We didn't deserve to win the game. We couldn't convert any of the give aways into points. Our offensive scheme is pathetic. My take on butch is that it looks like more of the same. This season has been an outright failure and I cant wait until next season to see if we can somehow become a .500 football team. We were out played, coached and most disappointed in the fact that we were out hearted and out schemed by Vandy.
I agree with 99% of your comments. The only thing is out hearted maybe it was just that the coaching is not or has not been there for 4 years.
I have stated that I thought we were overachieving early in the season and after the Georgia game, but got slammed for it so I drank more kool aide.
This kids played with a lot of heart tonight but at times I got scared because at times CBJ looked just like Dooley on the sidelines tonight. His motivation and leadership was missing tonight....almost like a deer in the headlight look. It was like he knew it was over a quarter and a half into the game or maybe he was pissed about the play calling.
Everybody knows that our offensive line is overrated and they continuously validated it game after game this year. Not once did they ever come close to dominating the line of scrimmage against a quality opponent. Maybe a period or two in the USCe game.
I believe that this type of offense will work in the SEC but I am not sure if this current staff is capable of teaching or play calling it to the level of efficiency needed to produce the desired results. It may not be talent as much as it is coaching it. Our staff, seems to be the issue here because this offense has got to be instinctive in nature and our staff seems to second guessing the play calling.
The jury will be out at the end of the season and most likely some have already ruled regarding CBJ and staff, regardless, he will be here more than two more years, but two more losing seasons he should be gone. Stj made a statement that CBJs demise could hang on his failure to change out the staff and he could be right.
Defensively, no improvement for this game. God I would give a nut for 3rd and Chavis right now and I would not mind a cutcliff type offensive play called game.
At least I would be comfortable knowing what team and the standards of players we would see on the field.
We would have fixed the LOS problems if Fulmer was still around. He knew how to coach lines.
