Vandy's OL blocked him directly in the back on their final drive, with them deep in their territory. Jaq was blowing up the RB, got blocked right in the back and still managed to somehow cause the back to stumble and go down. But I was livid that there was no flag on that play. It was right where the ball was. How could those dumba$$es miss it?! Couldn't have been a more textbook example of a block in the back.MY thoughts: We played tough at times. I saw flashes of athleticism. I would liken us to a dull fire that flares up every now and again.
I think these kids are given some tough circumstances to have to overcome, and often it's not their doing.
Officiating shouldn't decide a team's bowl hopes, but once again it has. For those of you that think I'm just talking about the end, I'm not. Pig's catch was just that, a catch. The "block in the back" was suspect and REALLY nitpicky. Finally the critical spot. Think of how these calls played out:
Pig catch overturn-killed drive
Block in back-robbed 6 pts
Overturn spot (Qb sneak are you kidding me?) Over ruling a spot there based on what? Vandy given chance to win. Complete and total horse ****!

The fact that they call a very questionable BITB on Pig, but not a BLATANT one on Vandy's last drive, can mean the difference in the game.Wow. So we lost because of the refs.... Pig bobbled the pass, Pig blocked the guy in the back, and our defense gave up the first down on 4th and 1. Additionally, if our offense picks up 1 freakin, measly yard on 3rf and 1 the last drive rather than getting Neal blown up on a 2 yard loss, we more than likely win the game.
Not the officials fault we lost the game. Start with our head coach and go from there.
