3) Hardy: I'll admit, I've had a little animosity about him choosing AU for the past month, but reports of his 2nd thoughts and reluctance to sign early have caught my attention and got me wondering...Maybe he's one of those guys that needed to see other great players commit and trust CJP before he was ready....I'm pretty sure we all would be willing to forgive with no strings attached. I think him flipping to us would also reaffirm the stamp that CJP is putting on the program. For example, without naming any names, we all know we've been devastated with losing top in state talent the last few years. It seems like his committment would say "not any more"...In addition,TBH, we've really been playing a 4-2-5 base the vast majority of the time on D because a specific size and skill set is required for a 3-4 DE and we havent had very many on our roster...However, with the addition of guys like Baron and Hardy, CJP would finally be getting kids that fit the prototypical 3-4 DE.....
2) Henderson: 6'5" 300 lbs is listed as a DL on some profiles, but OT on others..I think getting him as a OT would be an enormous addition....With the addition of Robinson and Spraggins, we've sured up OG depth for at least 2 years. Keep in mind that real compact, powerful, stout, road graters that play guard usually struggle with the athleticism of SEC passrusher.. Calbert, I know has plugged in as T for a few games, but he's most comfortable at OG. This leaves Jahmir, Akporaghene, and Ollie Lane as the backup tackles next season...Jahmir is gone in 2020. Finding great SEC OTs is almost as hard as finding great QBs..usually Bama and GA end up with the great ones in our conference....OT is also the 2nd most challenging position on offense (maybe all football football) OT vs CB is debatable....
1) Washington: The suspense is killing me. The kid is Lebron James in football pads. I can only imagine the mismatch hed cause defenses all over the field, especially in the red zone. Scheme wise, it seems like itd be a great fit not just for next season, but the next few. We've signed a few smaller guys with elite speed on the perimeter, so his size, strength, and catch radius wouldn't just compliment those guys, but his presence on certain personnel groupings would force 5'10" corners to check him. It's an understatement to say I'm excited we might get him. I think he and Noah Sewell (Oregon Commit) are the overall best hs football players in the country.
