Boo Weekly and Woody Austin.......

when i saw Boo come out in the Camo Cleveland Golf hat.......i almost fell on the floor. that's my kind of guy. plus his presser Saturady was great. the world could use a few more like Boo.

And Woody Austin went out and backed up what he said.....he was great yesterday, just not "Tiger great", and his comments Saturday and after he finished Sunday were priceless........

and no rip on Tiger.....they guy is phenominal...

Woody Austin is an idiot. Plain and simple. He made some pretty ignorant and stupid comments in his press conference yesterday. Did you see it? He said he outplayed Tiger on Friday, even though Tiger beat him by 7 shots. Dumbest f'ing statement of all time and I am sure some of his buddies on tour were cringing when he made that comment. Then he was whinning about the crowd not pulling for him as loud as Tiger. Hello Woody! Earth to Woody! You now have one top ten in a major and have been on tour for close to 20 years. You aren't even in the same league as Tiger. He let his mouth overshadow his great play. His press conference was pitiful.

Boo is great. Great for the game. We need more Boos out there and less Woodys.

My sentiments exactly on both guys. Woody's press conference comments yesterday were just delusional.

I couldn't agree more- I was laughing my a$$ off when I caught that press conference last night. Austin sounds like a blithering idiot:crazy:

Austin's comments in a nut shell:

"Yeah a got my butt handed to me- but does that mean that Tiger is a better player?? I mean, I beat him on the last day.... 1 out of 4 ain't bad, right??

LOL......that's why it was great. I for one thought it was awesome.......of course he's not as good as tiger, everyone knows it.

but, i did love two of his comments, the first about his "competitive fire", where he basically said that when Tiger hits a bad shot and slams his driver in to the ground, he's labeled as "competitive", but when i do it, i'm a "loose cannon" and can't control myself, am i not competitive?

the second commnet was about how "no one hates making bogeys more than Tiger Woods"......and his retort "like we all just love it?"

the guy is delusional, but i liked the fact that he stood up and just said what was on his mind, and the fact that he did at least make it somewhat interesting on Sunday just added to it....

i thought it was great........much more intriguing than the usual you get from the tour guys....and it only mattered because he did go out and have a really good round on Sunday....

I just posted about those 2 comments in the other thread - I agree with your take on the comments. As for the beating him 1 out of 4 - I think that's a pretty funny comment.

As for the outplayed on Friday comment? I have no idea what the heck he's talking about with that one.

Tiger has never broken his putter over his head after missing a putt. The guy looked like he was trying to hurt himself.:banghead2:

no doubt, Woody has set precedents that don'e necessarily help his cause, but he does have some valid points.

and i'd imagine as a fellow tour professional, he probably gets tired of it, as i'd expect a lot of them do.

but talking about it, while i find it thoroughly entertaining, and doing something about it are two different things.

the reaility is, no one is better and if someone wants to shut up the media/fans/circus that surrounds Tiger, then how about beating him once in a while? 13 majors, 13-0 when leading after 3 rounds.

you don't want the circus and you want the attention yourself? win. Until then, keep talking about it.......and making outrageous comments......i love it.

Woody's point being that he hit the ball better than Tiger did, but didn't score.

Ground Control to Woody, Tiger wins because he putts it better under pressure than everybody else in the history of the game. Many drive the ball in better places and might some irons closer, but nobody hits more greens when needed and nobody putts it better. If we judged based upon hitting it close, we simply put dartboard style greens up with points for proximity, but we would have to stop calling it golf. As it is, you still have to put it in the hole to record a number. Stop being retarded, beating Tiger at half the game is an argument I'd expect from Droski talking about how Cal ain't THAT bad.

everyone knows Woody's a basket case and I agree, but I love his swing. beautiful slow takeaway with phenomenal transition. result: sweet little cut with some great pop.

But like the commentators on TV, I didn't understand the way he played 18. Kicking up the turf and then hitting driver????????? Dumb play.

most retarded thing I've ever seen. Must have been trying to hit a big cut, but why not just tee it low?

I agree . . . As big as the drivers have gotten, I didn't think anybody still tried to hit one off the deck like that; especially from the tee box.
