More fuel for Rennia's fire. She didn't make the cut. I presume this means that she doesn't make the WBCA team this year.

Tough crowd. I think that the freshmen success of Bueckers and Clark probably hurt her the most. I don't remember if Hillmon was as good last year as this year, but it's hard to leave her off. Same with Cunane. The rest are about as expected.

8 of the 11 are underclassmen. The seniors on the list (Evans, Onyenware, and McDonald) were all pre-season picks that have had great seasons and did nothing to move them off the list.

I guess, but Rennia numbers are really on par with Rhyne's across the board (as discussed in the Rennia vs. Rae thread), and better than Collier's in most categories except for maybe rebounding and win shares. Onyenwere has the narrative built from past seasons and pre-season, but Rennia is significantly more efficient offensively (53 vs. 42 FG%, 57 vs. 42 2FG%, 1.13 vs. 1.00 points per shot attempt, 1.28 vs. 0.83 A/TO ratio, etc.) and is a slightly better rebounder -- something Onyenwere is known for -- and just slightly behind in most defensive stats, another area you might suspect Onyenwere would be glaringly better in. McDonald is also incredibly inefficient (39.5% FG...!) but is a volume scorer and I suppose an elite defender...

I can see why everyone included was selected but see a stronger argument for Rennia over several of these players, too.

I too think if Rennia had played for herself, no doubt she would be on the list. She decided to invest in her teammates to make them better. Behavior like that should be rewarded but those that select have a more narrowly defined criteria. It is what it is. In my mind, Rennia is a winner. Because of her sacrifice, she has better teammates now and they will help her towards the ultimate goal.

They don't really use stats to decide they just wing it on most popular. Davis has a higher field goal percentage than Howard. A higher free throw percentage. A higher rebounding average. The only stat that she loses is average because Howard takes a lot more shots than she does. .431 shooting percentage to Davis .486. Davis win points per field goal attempt. I ignore these awards they are usually BS. Not saying Davis should win it should've made the top ten.
