My buddy and I were talking baseball this weekend and we came across an interesting question. In the free agency era, how many players can you name that retired and only played for 1 team. It was harder than we thought.

I am trying to remember but I know the following were on our list:

Craig Biggio
Ozzie Smith
Cal Ripken Jr.
Kirby Puckett

Please add at will. I would really like to know who yall can come up with.

Well, we were going from just our lifetime because we couldnt determine when "free agency" actually started. We went from 1980 to current and it was tough.

Chipper qualifies thus far. I'd consider folks like George Brett for this type of discussion. FA was available later in his career, but he held on.

Yeah, the way we saw it, guys that "will" qualify for this are guys like, Jeter, Chipper Jones, Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera, ect...

We just could not name 10 players that have retired in the last 29 years that qualified.

Did Scott Brosius play for anyone other than the Yankees.

I would be shocked if Jeter, Posada or Rivera don't finish as Yankees.

Bernie Williams.

Don Mattingly as well.

Brosius spent several years with Oakland.

He never started for Boston, but he was with them orginally so we didnt count him. I thought the same thing though at first.

Yea, he never played a single MLB game with another team, but he was drafted by the Sawx.
