Is she seriously trying to back us out of Iraq and right into China???
"If freedom loving people don't speak out against China's oppression of people in Tibet, we have lost all moral authority to speak out against any oppressed people."

"Little did we know, we would be coming at such a sad time. Perhaps it was our karma, perhaps it was our fate … it was our karma because we are here to help the people of Tibet."

Not that I completely disagree with her feelings, however, trying to humiliate China, as a high-ranking representative of the US Government, just months prior to the Beijing Olympics is bordering on recklessness.

Would you expect anything less from a liberal democrat from San Fran?? I don't think some of these people can tell whether they are coming or going.

I lost most of my sympathy for the Tibetan people when I went to the Tibetan Freedom Concert (an all day/night outdoor concert) and was informed there would be no beer sales since the Tibetans are religiously opposed to alcohol! No wonder they are oppressed...:)

Hell, line them up right after North Korea and Iran. Seriously, China knows how we feel so they probably don't take Nancy too serious or care what she thinks. When I saw the thread name I thought it was going to be about Nancy Reagan, I didn't think she was making a lot of news these days.

Did you see the Beastie Boys? I have always wanted to see them.

The ironic thing is, that aside from the major metropolitan centers in China, Tibet and Western China have been relatively free to live their traditional lifestyle for the past twenty years.

If anything, hippies running around with a cause and a FREE TIBET bumper sticker have done more to give the Tibetans a feeling of empowerment and entitlement, which in turn is now leading to an incredibly harsh reigning in of these radical ideas prior to the Olympics.

I'd like to be able to sit in on a meeting of the IOC. They're probably scratching their heads trying to figure out how they ever thought hosting the Olympics in Beijing was a good idea.

Nancy Pelosi is all powerful... she speaks for Isreal, and now declares that we must help Tibet. I don't know why we're bothering with this whole election thing.

The worst things the Dems have against them are Pelosi and Reid. Kowtowing to the radicals and making Pelosi speaker is akin to the GOP making Jerry Falwell speaker. I'd say 50% of dems consider her a braying jackass, and a huge amount of moderates.

However, her sounding off about this and that is a great thing for the GOP in the fall.
