i'm so glad i didn't go up there this weekend. between camping in the rain and now having to choose between qualifying at the Speedway or getting over to IRP for a good spot for the race tonight, i'd be so frustrated.

A freakin' impound race. Simply mind-numbing.

i thought they said it wasn't going to be?

first it was. then it wasn't. and now it is?

it does make sense to go to an impound since there will be no practice after qualifying.

Last I heard this morning was an impound race. They didn't have to schedule freakin' qualifying so late...

They could've easily had a 1 or 2 hour practice session this morning, qualifying at 12 or 1 this afternoon, then have another practice session after qualifying at 4 or 5 this evening.

The only thing probably holding it back was the 30 or 35 guys that are running the Busch race as well that had to get over there to qualify and practice today because all of their races are impound races.

Busch Series qualifying starts in about 5 minutes... I guess they'll let all the Cup guys go first so they can get back to IMS in time for Cup qualifying in an hour.

i thought i heard Edwards say somebody (Kvapil i think) is going to qualify for him.

either way, it's probably a 5 minute helicopter ride from IMS to IRP seeing as how it's only 15 minutes in a car.

Weird.

Dad told me it wasn't going to be an impound race now, so I dunno... they wouldn't have time for a practice that wouldn't interfere with the Busch race. Maybe they're not practicing but will allow the teams to work on the cars.
