Seems that NASCAR will have 12 drivers in the CHASE and give more points to the winner of the race. I agree with giving more points on winning the race, but only have the top 10 make the CHASE.

considering the Chase competes with the NFL, you do what you gotta do to get the Smokes/Gordons/Juniors in the Chase every year.

as for more points for the winner, i think i've made my opinion known.

Then if a big name driver misses the chase this year, they'll add even more next year. Before you know it the chase will be just like the provisionals, everybody gets in.

NASCAR is not going to compete with the NFL by watering down the chase even further. They should consider running more Saturday night races during the chase. Most Nascar fans are also NFL fans, and if the Titans are on I have a hard time deciding which one to watch.

nascar should also consider adding it's own cable channel featuring direct feeds of the race only without commercials or announcers.

back when satellite dishes were 12 feet in diameter, you could pick up direct feeds from sporting events, where all you had were the cameras and the crowd noise. something like that would be great for nascar.

Don't like the adding more to the Chase but like the more points to the winner deal....Work hard to win a race, should get rewarded.....A little more so than the other guys

i agree that announcers are pretty useless, watching the cars on the track is fairly self explanitory, all the announcers do is make excuses when the cash cows dump someone or make a mistake....

not a real example, but basically how it works now

(Situation- Junior is 900 feet ahead of the car behind him on the back stretch at Michigan)
Meyers : "Trouble on the front stretch!!! Earnhardt Junior is Around!!!!"
DW: Yeah, Chris, looks like Mike Bliss got under him"

(editors note: the incident was on lap 212, Bliss was out of the race at 174 with a blown engine)

which is why i'm looking forward to the new SIRIUS coverage of NASCAR. the main part is the driver-crew chief communications with the race broadcast in the background.

if the radio broadcast by MRN and PRN could be simultaneous with the race, I'd listen to the radio. MRN and PRN do a fantastic job covering the races.

I just recently switched from xm to sirius because of NASCAR, NFL and Sirius also carries more college football than xm.

agreed.

but i generally do listen to the races on the radio and the delay isn't enough that it makes a huge difference.

the action is is continuos (sp?) in NASCAR. it's not like listening to say, the Vols, basketball on the radio and knowing the shot isn't going in before you see it taken.

This is just another way to get Jeffy Gordon into the Chase. He almost missed it last year. :)

I agree with what Elliot Sadler said about letting more drivers into the Chase. If you aren't good enough to make it, you don't deserve to be there. That goes for anyone. Nascar made the silly Chase rules to begin with, so they should stick with 10. Nascar changes the rules so much, it's ridiculous.

Agree with you 100%! 10 and only 10!
