The football nation is watching Tennessee today. The impression they get is important to our school, our state, our players, and our program.

Many of the comments being made about Coach Dooley are downright embarrassing, and they are degrading to all the above mentioned entities.

It would be good if some posters would take time to think about the effect of their comments. We are all hurting right now, and our football program is not where we want it to be, but how in the world can we expect it to ever get there with such insane comments being made across different forums? How can we be perceived in a good light when people read these outrageous comments?

How would we want our family members to be addressed if they were in Coach Dooley and his family's situation? It is not funny. It is sad. And it becomes more sad when people post careless, hurtful comments to those who are also hurting.

Tennessee is a classy state and university, but people across the nation cannot be convinced of that fact if they read what so many are writing.

If you love our Vols, then please act like it, and show some class!

Go Vols!

You're going to get that on a message board where anyone can chime in with their 2 cents. Most people would rather be hateful and disrespectful around here because they don't have the cojones to do it in the their real lives, and can do it here anonymously.

I'll start by saying Thank you Dooley for giving your all for Tennessee. The wins may have not been there, but the character was in a time when we may have needed that more than wins. It just didn't work out for you but I as a Vol fan wish u and your family the best in wherever u end up. God bless u and your family and u will always be respected for the time and effort u gave the University of Tennessee.

Unfortunately there isn't much of a chance of this happening. Some are idiots and think douchebaggery makes them cool

The "football nation" hasn't thought much of the Vols in a long damn time as they've had no reason to. It's been all down the side of Monteagle Mountain since 1998. No matter who the new coach is it will take as long as it's gonna take Penn State to get respectable again.

I agree there is no need for hurtful comments. Everything that needed to be said about the football program under Dooley was solidified in the Vandy game last night and every game leading up to it. Do let's respectfully move forward.

Meh, we got like 15 seconds on Sportscenter. We'll be lucky to get on Around the Horn or PTI, might get a short segment on College Football Live or whatever. We're pretty irrelevant at this point and the majority of the "football nation" is either watching the NFL or worrying about the polls that just came out. No one gives two craps what is said around here other than a few niche sports blogs looking for stupid posts to make fun of (which we'll have plenty of regardless of the circumstances surrounding our program).

I agree with this guy. Dooley has done nothing to warrant any crying over him leaving.

No child rapists here. Just bad coaching.
