Rank the BCS title winning quarterbacks based on who you would want most on your team.

Rank them based on their performance at the collegiate level, and leave out off the field stuff.

1. Young
2. Tebow
3. Newton (would be higher, but I only got to see him for one season)
4. Leinart
5. Weinke (I don't remember him too well, so a lot of this is just based on stats)
6. Heupel (I don't remember him too well, either, so again, a lot based on stats)
7. Mauk
8. Leak
9. Martin (Unfortunately, I can't remember him too well, either, so forgive me if you think he should be higher)
10. McElroy
11. Dorsey (I'm kind of torn on him. He had the great record and everything, but I feel like any of the guys above could have done as well with that team)
12. Flynn
13. Krenzel

I would take Martin over Leak.

Weinke was good but he's kind of like Leinart to me, he had such a great supporting cast he just didn't have to turn the ball over.

Wasn't Ken Dorsey very interested in UT during the same time UT was recruiting Chris Simms, or am I remembering that wrong?

His major or future career path was really irrelevant. Why?

yes he was, but during the whole process Simms (who was the class's top QB) became a "solid" verbal commit (like before January) so the school stopped pursuing Dorsey

...makes sense considering the situation/time; in retrospect with what Simms ended up pulling, looks a bit different

I think the point of this is just their college season / the bowl games, not anything that's happened before that or since then

if the latter were the idea, then guys like Martin & Leak would have to drop to the bottom....

Vince young was a monster in college. The game against USC was the best performance I've seen by a player in the bcs championship game.

Agreed, but I wouldn't trade Tebow and his 4 years at UF for anyone.
