“I know that BYU is the place that can help me reach my goals more than anyone else,” Heaps said. “We can win a national championship here.”

HAHA, you'd have better luck winning a National Championship at Washington.

Too bad.

Maybe its a good thing Heaps committed to BYU, he sounds mental if you ask me. We dont need another "head case" QB.

Guys, what do you expect the kid to say? Give him a break. He made his decision based off what is best for him and his family and I think he made a good one. I wish him the best of luck.

Don't try to throw rational thinking in here. :)

Maybe it's just that its Friday morning and I am feeling especially ornery, but I say piss on him. You're either with us or against us. Will yall have any mercy on him, because he looked at UT, if we play BYU in a bowl game? I won't.

Unless they play a Top 25 team in nearly every non-conference game, I feel relatively confident in my prediction that Jake Heaps won't win any national championships in college. However, he's a good kid and a really good quarterback who is getting some recruits just because of his commitment as well. BYU will be a good team, capable of making a BCS game even, just don't see any national titles on the horizon.

A UT recruit says that about UT, and he's a brilliant and insightful young man.

A recruit chooses BYU and says it about BYU, and he's a dope.

What did people expect him to say? That he fully expects to be wildly successful in conference and then to be proven mediocre in the big leagues?

Yeah HA!...Imagine that!...Kinda like when Nu'Keese was a gator he was the 2nd coming of Percy Harvin and when he switched over to the evil big orange empire all of a sudden he was too short and you guys said he would have rode the bench at UF and that you had better 3 star players....Right...Unbelievable huh? :salute:

Who is saying that? I never said anything of the sort.

If Heaps said that, he is delusional. He'll get a rude awakening the first game of this season against the Sooners. I like his optimism, but BYU is just not the place to go to win a NC nowadays.

That said, BYU did beat UCLA (59-0) and Wyoming (44-0) last year. We certainly can't say that. Ouch.

In any event, best of luck to Heaps. He is a great prospect and sounds like a good kid.

Heaps is retarded to think that a MWC team under the current BCS system could ever win a championship. What a goony thing to say! BYU has a good of a chance as any to send him to the NFL, but. NC? Been smoking some good Mormon ganja, huh,Jake?

You're seriously going to play the "what did you expect him to say?" card after all the crap you've slung in regards to the coach you nicknamed CBM?

And yes, at BYU he could go undefeated and still have not have a shot at a National Championship. At UT, he could lose two games and it would still be a possibility.

I am fine with this. I wasn't too excited about this kid. I also went to BYU for a few years, so I am Cougars fan and he'll put up big numbers in the MWC. I bleed orange, and I see a better QB headed our way.

byu has a good program, but utah last year should have taught him something about winning a NC, i do belive BYU is slightly underrated though.
