National Seeds (top 8)
SECURE TEAMS: Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Texas, Mississippi State, TCU, Tennessee, Notre Dame

ON THE BUBBLE (IN): Arizona

ON THE BUBBLE (OUT): Stanford, Texas Tech, Oregon

...........The four SEC powers just keep on keeping on, and Notre Dame remains atop the ACC pecking order despite losing its first series of the year this weekend against Florida State. One thing to watch: Arkansas and Tennessee lead their respective divisions with matching 17-7 SEC records heading into a showdown series between the two clubs in Knoxville this weekend. If the Vols can win that series at home, they clearly would cement themselves as a top-eight seed, and they also might vault all the way up to the No. 1 national seed by passing the Hogs in the standings while simultaneously gaining a head-to-head edge over them. Of course, Arkansas has yet to lose a series this year despite playing the nation’s strongest schedule, so we’re not going to bet against the Razorbacks this weekend either......

Lmao...so if we lose only our second series of the year...to another #1 team...we wouldnt be a top 8 seed...so stupid
Agree. 2 series losses would be to #3 and #1.. I don't see any reason we should drop from top 8. Those are arguably the 2 best teams in NCAA. Dropping from #4 to past 8 for losing to #1 makes no sense. They're #1!!! They should beat #4. It means the rankings are correct.

I don't think that's what D1 is saying, and I agree with them in this regard. I look at it this way, given that the Vols have four games remaining after the Arkansas series.

Beating Arkansas renders the remaining four games irrelevant, essentially; I'd still be concerned if Tennessee took two of three from Arkansas and then proceeded to lose out, but that'd be only their second series loss at that point so it isn't that damning. Sweep Arkansas and the remaining games truly do not matter.

Win one against Arkansas and a National Seed is still very likely if you take care of Belmont and don't totally disappear against South Carolina.

Get swept by Arkansas, though? A National Seed is off the table if you don't win at least three of the final four games.
