For 66 and others..........

SECURE TEAMS: Arkansas, Vanderbilt, TCU, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Arizona

ON THE BUBBLE (IN): Tennessee, Texas
ON THE BUBBLE (OUT): Texas Tech, Ole Miss, Oregon

Tennessee held steady with a 2-2 week that included a bad midweek loss to Lipscomb and a home series win against Kentucky. With a 14-7 record in the SEC and a No. 7 RPI, the Vols remain on track to land a top-eight seed, but we still have them behind Mississippi State (which is also 14-7 and five spots higher in the RPI). The Bulldogs also have the slightly more favorable remaining schedule, and we continue to believe they will finish higher in the conference standings, making Tennessee the fourth team in the SEC pecking order. That’s why the Volunteers are our No. 7 seed and not higher.

Also as it relates to the SEC:

SEC (8 bids)
SAFELY IN: Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Florida, South Carolina
ON THE BUBBLE (IN): Georgia
ON THE BUBBLE (OUT): Kentucky, Alabama

If this is just based off of numbers I don’t know how UT isn’t safely in like Arizona and Notre Dame. However, we know geography and conference affiliation is a factor here. They don’t really want 4 SEC teams as national seeds and will find a way to screw UT (or any 4th SEC team) if it comes down to it.

Texas and TCU play this weekend, we can only control what we do, road wins got a little more oomph, but in this case not lots, we need to handle business and hope TCU does too. JMO.

We have never been a Super Regional Host, the fact that we’re even talking about it tells ya something.

I'd like to see us host a Super Region vs. East Carolina and prevent their fans from getting tickets like they did to Tennessee is 2001.
I hold 20 year grudges like that
As long as the series turns out like it did in '01 I am cool with it.

If Tennessee does get a super regional host spot, bet on the NCAA matching the Vols against either Florida or Ole Miss. You can also bet on SC getting matched up with Vandy or Miss St. They don’t wanna see 5-6 SEC teams in the CWS and will take steps to prevent that based on the past.

If our facilities were modern we would be ‘safely in’. I like the Rocky Balboa underdog role myself. Working out in a basement puts a chip on your shoulder.

Tennessee's locker rooms, work out facility, training rooms, batting cages, club house, team rooms, etc. are on par with most schools. Lindsey Nelson Stadium capacity, and outer façade are well below average. There is a reason that the videos don't show the entrance from the street.

You obviously haven’t spent much time in our baseball weight room. Take a trip to Arkansas, Miss St, LSU, FL, and probably a couple more and you will find elite workout facilities.

On par my ass!

As does working out on the beach and frolicking in the water with another man while you both wear shorts no man should ever wear. Big chip!

Yep. And there's also this "name" bias that I believe is at play. Being honest, UT is not known for its baseball program. We're kinda crashing through a glass ceiling here. We won't be given the kind of respect a program like Vandy will receive. No, we're the red headed step child in this group. We'll have to take it if we're gonna get it and like you pointed out, we will need a little help as well.

Hand Arkansas their first SEC series loss and we need no help from anyone.

Unbelievable! It’s no wonder we have been irrelevant in baseball for the most part. And even more unbelievable that we now have a coach that has been able to bring this program into the limelight.
It is definitely the right time for major upgrades to the baseball program and it’s facilities!

This. We control our own destiny. If we take the series from Arkansas, we're a lock for a Super; however, I think if we sweep Mizzou, beat Tenn Tech this week, and then take just one from Arkansas I believe that's enough to get a Super.

I don't know if the USCe series will have much impact. Won't the hosts be picked before then because of COVID protocols?

The 20 potential Regional sites will be announced later this week (Thurs or Friday), and then the 16 regional sites will be announced from that pool shortly before Selection Monday.
