Was a great one, Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards fought each other for the win and Carl didn't wreck him either. I was really impressed with Trevor Bayne and Aric Almirola peformances tonight. Once Mark hangs it up Trevor might just be my new driver once he makes the jump to Cup. Plus he is a local Knoxville kid :good!:

Also Dale needs to be on the phone right now with Aric about putting him in the 88 or the 7 for additional races this season. He really stood out to me as well, got his car banged up on the first lap and drove it home to a 3rd place finish. This is the guy that Dale needs in the 88 full time in 2011.

ORP is the best track on the circuit. It's facilities are poor, but the configuration is unbeateable.

I rememeber listening to Dewey Warren when I got out of school as a kid. He had a UT Sports show. They got this one kid out of class early one day and he was in 6th grade(same as me). He went by the name of Trevor Bayne. Ever since then I've followed him from USAR and now up to Nationwide. Give him some time and he'll mature into a solid cup caliber driver.

As for Almirola, he's said that he's focusing all of his efforts on the truck title. Maybe he'll run some companion events if JR Motorsports doesn't have those particular races filled. He's a top candidate for next year's spot on the 7/88 roster.

IRP is one of the best paved short tracks in the country. the facilities aren't poor, they're modest for NASCAR. given the typical racing there the other 363 days of the year, it is a top notch facility. ever heard of the U.S. Nationals? The Night Before the 500?

they know what they're doing.

i'd rather be there the last two nights than at the Brickyard tomorrow.

IRP used to have a road course I raced a kart on, I believe it's closed now. I also like the configuration of the oval, allows for passing if your car is setup correctly.

Do you ever notice all the tracks the Cup Series go to where its a common to hear the phrase "It's so hard to pass here" from drivers, commentators, etc? Didn't hear that last night. Good racing all around all night, and a good side by side, CLEAN, battle for the win. It will never happen, but the Cup Series needs to get rid of some of those cookie cutter, hard to race tracks, and go to places like ORP.
