NBA Fight Night 06

Sports get heated up... Somebody's bound to lose it from time to time. Try not to be that guy, and if you are, you deserve what's coming to you. I'm not suprised, shocked or offended, I just accept it as what happens in sports. You're never going to eliminate it. Just deal out punishments accordingly.

George wanted to embarass the Knicks for firing Larry Brown. Zeke's team is so bad they can't do anything to stop it except resort to flagrant fouls. This whole thing falls on the Knicks. If they had taken their medicine like men, nothing happens. Also, it lends credence to something I thought last year while living in NYC and going to the Garden frequently. After a game, I said to one of the Knick employees at the Garden Club that Nate Robinson appeared to be the biggest punk to come into the NBA in a long time. His response: "You don't know the half of it. I guarantee he's far worse than you think."

i just saw the clip of Zeke and his words towards Carmelo on SportCenter. it appears he basically said he was coming after him. since when is it his job to quit playing when he is in the game? i agree with this being on the Knicks.

i don't see why Karl felt the need to embarass the Knicks when they do a pretty good job of it themselves every night they play.

however, without knowing what was said between Zeke and Carmello and then what was said to Carmello during the fight, i find his actions to be unacceptable.

why is Zeke still around in the NBA? still in basketball? i can't believe some people in Bloomington wanted him anywhere close to that school.

Karl and Huggins good friends, so I've had the chance to meet George a couple of times when he visited and did clinics in Cincinnati. He's the type of guy that once you cross one of his friends, he'll do everything in his power to make your life miserable. As for Zeke, it is amazing that he is able to continue to fool people. His record as an executive in the NBA is awful. I'm not even going to get into the fact that he damn near destroyed the CBA. He's just not a good coach or GM. Great players usually aren't. Jerry West and Larry Bird are the exceptions. Look how poorly Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan have performed in those capacities.

there was an excellent article on Karl and his son in ESPN The Magazine, last week i believe.

i understand why Karl did it. i was just taking a shot at the Knicks.

I know you were. I was just giving a little context to my earlier post. Seeing George Karl and Lon Kruger's sons playing college ball makes me feel old. I remember seeing Coby and Kevin as ball boys. Time does fly.

C. Anthony's little punch and run was special.

I also enjoyed hearing Gary Coleman trying to explain after the game that the Nuggets were trying to embarrass the Knicks. This coming from a guy who a couple of weeks ago tried to bounce the ball to himself for a dunk. Unsuccessfully, of course, as are most NY Knick endeavors.

Just saw a clip of Isiah mouthing "Don't go to the basket right now".

The worst part is that he is denying that he had anything to do with it and blaming this on Karl. I thought Karl's comments were pretty much dead-on.

i played ball, and nvr minded a good ole fight here and there. but what makes me absolutely disgusted is Carmello throwing a punch and running like a dang female. If he's man enough to throw a punch he should be man enough to stand there and fight, instead of running like the poon he is. i haven't like carmello since his rookie season when he refused to go back into a game. just shows you that he's a punk, as far as Nate Robinson, i love that guy, smallest guy on the court and isn't scared of anyone, maybe C. Anthony can learn something from him. Isiah Thomas needs to just leave the game, I wouldn't have minded seeing Karl bust him upside the head one good time. Isiah should have been fined and suspended, doesn't matter he's gone after the season.
