The pilot was pretty good, but it appeared choppy. Not sure if that was a Charter Cable issue or what. Watched it on Demand and it was the same again. Anyway this new spin has Drac & Van Helsing collaborating together. So far this one has my attention. What do you guys think of it so far?

I've never heard of it and I feel dumb. This seems like something I'd like. I'll need to pay attention...

still don't understand the pop culture fascination with vampires

I like the way the first episode opened and played out. The second episode seemed slower and less interesting. If he's just going to be taking down business men while slowly stalking the girl then I'm not sure it's going to hold out.

I wouldn't necessarily call this a "pop culture" vampire show. It's set in a different time and there is definite carnage.

it's Bram stoker's Dracula with a different twist. Dracula and Van Helsing working together is the biggest twist. Dracula finding his reincarnated lost love Nina. Dracula is playing a part as an industrialist to take down the order of the dragon. while Van helsing is working on a cure for his vulnerability to the sun.

it's not great but it isn't terrible.

I think I'll watch the first two episodes of this later tonight as a mini-movie. That way I'll know if I'll like it or not or take it off my DVR.

The last vampire show I watched was Angel. I never got into the Vampire Diaries and haven't seen True Blood since I don't get HBO although I did pick up the first three or four seasons last year during Black Friday but haven't got around to checking it out yet.

Tried watching it. Just did not buy what they were selling.

Why do the vampires in movies these days have to look, sound, and act so effeminate? .

because a Marlboro Man with glowing eyes and pointy teeth is even more ridiculous than an immortal, metrosexual slacker wearing skinny jeans

Yet a show like Agents of Shield, which seems to get sillier with each episode will survive. I guess when you have corporate backing (Disney) behind you it makes a world of difference.

Disney cancelled Tron: Uprising after only 18 episodes, unlike Agents of Shield, it was a brilliant animated series.

The catch here is that Disney has money tied up in Thor, Capt. America and the next Avenger movie. It will be around at least two seasons. I just hope it gets better.

Is anyone watching this?

I haven't watched a full episode yet but the small parts I've seen, I just don't buy the main guy as Dracula.

I've gotten into it. Although I don't understand why he killed that actress in the final part of last week's episode.
