expected him to be there for 4 days? Wth was he going to be doing in Columbus for 4 days? LolUpdate: Ohio State doesn’t sound very confident this am, Sanders was thought to stay until Tuesday, but as I mentioned last night he returned home this AM.
I expect him and his family to discuss this thoroughly throughout the week.
I would question the intelligence of anyone who hasn't noticed or just chooses to ignore the inconsistent line play this year and how it has hurt us at times. I would also question the intelligence of anyone who doesn't realize if we lose Sanders, that mean Elarbee pulled in two OL for this class. Two. In a year we're losing at least 3 starters and a couple of depth pieces that see plenty of action. So yeah, those who don't take a good look at Elarbee if this happens, those are the idiots.Sorry but anyone blaming Elarbee is an idiot. He can get credit for landing Sanders...but he cannot be blamed for losing him as this seems related to NIL which Elarbee has nothing to do with.
Both can be true nobody should be content with Ellarbee we could do better, and Heupel needs to at least hire an assistant like chomp for OL recruiting and to help with developmentI would question the intelligence of anyone who hasn't noticed or just chooses to ignore the inconsistent line play this year and how it has hurt us at times. It's also been said that it's likely something he didn't/couldn't do.And it’s also been said that it’s nothing Elarbee did.
@Ericvol2096 Can you help shed some adult information here? Feel free to paint with a gigantic brush here like all insiders do, lol.OK feeling better here as today goes on... lots of moving parts with the agent and tbh good for them for seeing out their concerns to the very end. It unfortunately is a new recruiting landscape and we are just going to have to deal with this kind of behavior every year now. Every top recruit in the nation is doing this as we speak, and for good reason, as we are seeing NIL deals (FLORIDA, etc) fall through once enrolled and contract details violated.
It is my hope though, that we do the exact same thing OSU and UGA and etc are doing to us, why the hell aren't we reaching out to Josh Petty, Utu, etc. agents with upped offers/considerations? could be a good play and even if you miss the enemy is paying more for the product
How do you know they haven't been in contact with other OL prospects? You on the staff? The baffling thing to me is there has been plenty of time since we lost Utu for us to start calling talented OL commits of other programs, programs that are struggling, and work them. But we haven't. And now, at the 11th hour, we see a program trying to poach our top-rated commit. A kid that, should he flip, would leave us in a serious bind at the OL position. Why in the hell have we not been calling other OL prospects and trying to flip them?
Sanders is a Vol until he's not. Hopefully he keeps his pledge and wears the O&W. But it's still coaching malpractice that we haven't been pursuing more OL.
To much sense in your postHere's where I am at (I know what KingVFL has said)
This DOES seem to be an NIL move. How was the relationship/lack of development not an issue over the summer but it is now? How can he be seemingly so locked in and 2 weeks before all of the sudden change his mind? OSU fans HATE their OL coach and want him fired just like most UT fans. I think this is a play by OSU to make a splash in recruiting after their rival made a splash landing Underwood last week.
As Tony V says "Make a decision, you're either a Vol or you're not". No kid will ever be bigger than the program but I hope he decides to stick around.
The year is 2030. The top high school recruit now has an NIL offer for $50 mil. Im in the corner of my office rethinking a lot of decisions.OK feeling better here as today goes on... lots of moving parts with the agent and tbh good for them for seeing out their concerns to the very end.
