Our reliance on the portal for OLinemen is a big part of our problem. Chemistry (being able to work together as a cohesive unit and anticipate each other's moves) is one of the primary attributes of a solid offensive line. You never develop that if you're constantly plugging in new transfers every year. Fans' love affair with the transfer portal is baffling to me.Hope he stays, but I think the model for OL is shifting to portal first, recruiting second. May be true of other positions as well. But the nature of how bigger, heavier kids develop would make it the first position to shift more to a portal model in my opinion.
There we goTom Loy’s article on 247 this AM:
“
However, last weekend, he showed up in Columbus for an unofficial visit to Ohio State. The trip went extremely well. Buckeyes fans were fired up, while Volunteers fans were sick to their stomachs.
All that said, despite the big push down the stretch by everyone associated with the Ohio State football program — in some ways led behind the scenes by five-star quarterback and future Buckeye Tavien St. Clair — our best sources believe that he'll eventually put pen to paper with the Volunteers.
Sanders isn't one to go out of his way to mislead, and we have it on good authority that he's still telling people who matter that he wants to be in Knoxville.”
Skip to end. Hubbs basically confirms that all eyes are on if Sanders shows back up at OSU. Also says it is not about money but about language.
He also confirms if you lose him it is a big deal. Not that we are losing him, but that he is the key piece. Summarized that players have to want to play here. That is what drives final decision when all aspects are even.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ companies look at analytics of keeping employees. Once you are settled, have 401K, skin game...chances are you'll stay.then that tells me that even if he does come here, the coaches have to look at him as a one year rental every year, and that is fine, just be aware that that is the new way of life in college football
We need a dislike button. This isn’t Jordan Seaton. I understand your point but you’re overreacting.then that tells me that even if he does come here, the coaches have to look at him as a one year rental every year, and that is fine, just be aware that that is the new way of life in college football
