'26 NC QB Faizon Brandon (Tennessee commit)

Finally got to see some of his highlights. All I gotta say is WOW. Faizon looks eerily similar to Dobbs. Same number. Similar size. Similar athleticism. And his passing touch looks like it could be better than Dobbs. I think we might just be getting the best QB in the last 5 or so recruiting cycles.

Josh Huepel knows what he's doing at the QB position. I'll never question his decision-making at that position ever again.

Wait…you made all that assessment about Curtis and you hadn’t even watched Brandon’s film yet?

😆

It’s fine to question. Heupel isn’t perfect. He makes mistakes ever so rarely.
What he does have is an entire philosophy on how to develop superior QBs. It goes past footwork and mechanics or even film study.

He absolutely does not let the star rankings chase affect his guys.

Lol. “Same number”

Not too many athletic #11s out there playing QB at a high level. Watch him run around in those highlights in #11 and tell me it don't look like Dobbs.
James Banks wore # 11
Alex Smith wore # 11
Julian Edelman wore # 11
😂 two of those guys played WR at some point they were so athletic.

Regardless.

I’m glad you’re excited about Faizon.

Two of those guys are white and James Banks is far in the past. The fact you couldn't think of anything better than those three means my statement was on point. The closest #11 we've seen in recent memory look like this was Dobbs. Both are 6'3"-6'4". Lean. Athletic. Black. Dual threat QBs that wear #11.

They don’t look alike at all outside of wearing the same number. They play in two completely different systems: Dobbs was throwing mostly 10 yard curls and out routes in his high school highlights, Brandon is throwing mostly deep go routes and fades in his. Brandon’s arm is stronger, and he looks faster to me. Very different throwing motions as well.

Everybody is forgetting about Jake Merklinger. I don’t think that kid is afraid of competition.
Some are forgetting I don’t think everyone is. You’re going to have a lot of kids with off the charts physical skills. Who starts and how good they are will be determined by work and how quickly they can process the offense. What made Hooker so good wasn’t just physical; he knew the offense inside out. All of these kids are far and away better than anyone we had in the QB room when Pruitt was starting JG.
