Whats your take on this guy?
I think UT is in a good spot, think they are top 3 with Clemson and SC. Right now, Id put Clemson 1 and UT 2, SC 3 with Bama and UGA rounding out a top 5. Id watch the Fla schools, they are taking a swing as well.
Most comparisons are Derrick Henry but their styles are a little different if you watch them play. He likes to run at people sometimes. Just my opinion, Id love him at LB. He is very open about playing any position asked so that speaks well for his character. He is leaning on Zeus White for advice on handling his recruitment. Not in asking for advice on picking a school, but which camps, how to spot things coaches say that is just hyperbole , etc.
He has said summer time but has also said he wants to see how teams play specifically UT and SC in the fall regarding a decision. Kids change their mind twice a day on when they want to commit. :hi:
How does the RB board look behind Crouch?
Keep in mind that Crouch is more of a RB/LB, and it's really going to be up to him on where he plays. It's looking more and more like he has a legitimate chance of being a defensive player who gets a chance to play in a special package on offense, if that's what he wants to do. He's a really good running back, but he could be an outstanding defensive player, too.
As for who's in play on Tennessee's running back board, the Vols are in the running for John Emery Jr., and they're battling for guys like Austin Jones of California and LSU commitment Tyrion Davis of Baton Rouge, La. They also have offered some guys like Marcus Major of Oklahoma and Zykamren Robinson of South Carolina who could be in play, but we'll see if they visit Tennessee soon.
On 2nd thought, "very big lead" wasn't the best choice of words. I should've left out "very" -- and like I said, it's early. He is showing pretty good interest in Tenn, and seems to have good relationships early on with UT coaches -- so that's good. Food for thought: Crouch is very religious (so is Dabo) and has said he has faith that God will lead him to where he should go.Don't believe that is accurate, atleast it hasn't been mentioned from any reliable sources.
Steve Wiltfong is one pretty reliable source who talks with Crouch and has said he's leanimg to Clemson. He has also placed his Crystal Ball prediction for Clemson. But again, it's early -- and Crouch seems to be taking his time in his recruitment.Don't believe that is accurate, atleast it hasn't been mentioned from any reliable sources.
"I'm going to commit as soon as I know. I'm not going to wait on it. I gotta take some officials this fall. I don't really know when I'll make the decision.
On what he's working through as he tries to reach a decision:
"There's still some things I'm still unsure of with some of the schools. There's somethings I'm looking at, but I don't want them to know I'm looking at it. It's like an undercover thing. I'm not going to talk about it, because if I talk about it and they hear about it then the schools will try to change it around how they recruit me. I got to play the game like they're playing it.
"You want them to have a specific plan for you. I don't like people tooting my horn. I want people telling me what I'm bad at so I can get better at it."
On future visits:
"I don't think I have anything planned, but I might go to South Carolina soon. They're close, I can get down there anytime. I wanted to get to schools farther away first."
On linebacker vs. running back:
"I think logetivity-wise, linebacker is the way to go. running back you get hit a lot. It's different in high school. In college, you can't just run through everybody."
On his recover from February hip surgery:
"I'm doing therapy twice a week. It's going pretty good. I feel like I can be back running pretty soon. I haven't ran or done anything like cardio, because it's kind of stressing me out because I'm so used to working out."
On the coaches he's closest with:
"Coach Bentley from South Carolina. Coach Pruitt from Tennessee and all the staff at Tennessee. I like the people at Florida State already. Now I'll just keep going down there (to FSU) and seeing how things happen. Clemson, I'm closest with coach Elliott. And I'm starting to build my relationship with coach Venables."

I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. I'm simply sharing some information. I don't like what Crouch said about Clemson any better than you do. Bama is recruiting Crouch too, so I've been keeping tabs some on his recruitment. Idk why Ron Swanson left that stuff Crouch said about Clemson out of his post. It seemed significant to me.Tidal surge... this isnt a Clemson board. Go find one and spend the day trying to convince them this kid is Clemson bound. Maybe theyll give a ****.
