Makes me not even want to watch the vols play, or any other college basketball team. It's gotten really terrible. I don't even know if it's fixable at this point, there was already terrible officials, but then they decided to make the rules even worse.

Always will root for the vols, but it is annoying even from an objective view point. I'm not saying we are the only ones getting screwed, Witch. State has had some horrible calls against them too. Officials in college really really like the spotlight and it's very obvious.

If you play/played basketball you'd understand.

It's a play that happens (hand checks on a driving player) all the time. It has to be called. Like a lot of people have said, players will eventually learn and stop making contact.

I agree with you personally. It's just hard to watch college bball at all right now. I'm usually glued to the TV every time the Vols are on, but now I'd rather to wait for the box score.

Totally agree. The refs control the tempo of the game. And in close games, more often than not, the outcome.

Has almost become unwatchable.

I guess Im the only one who doesn't blamed this loss on the refs. They should of learned from the first game against xavier.

I tried to watch today but it is just to hard. One minute they call a touch foul, then no call a block shot when the defender body checks the shooter to the floor. They are ruining this game. Bunch of pansies, whatever happened to NO BLOOD NO FOUL.

How did you come to that conclusion?

If you recall in the first game their were a ton of fouls called with the new rule change. You can't put 2 hands on the player nor can the defensive player extend and lock out their arm on the offensive player. Everybody has to play by this rules.

Yul Bryner killed the momentum on Mcrae's flush. We shoulda been able to overcome. Aint no road team, just like football.

No. No. No. It's not the rules. It's the consistency. I was an official at rec league levels. All coaches ask for is effort and consistency. Basketball and football have gotten bad. A good official is never recognized. Unfortunately we have some that want to be known. The tech on the dunk was a joke. Profanity or not, that happens all of the time, and he wasn't showing anyone up. Consistency!

Putridly heinous doesn't even begin to describe it! It's nothing new though. About 10 yrs ago I found myself getting mad watching CBB games where I didn't even care who won. I quit watching for the most part for several years. It won't get better until people stop going & stop watching on TV.

How does that answer my question?
