The NCAA is adding the coach's challenge to instant replay. I think it's a good move.

So if you challenge and they rule against you, you're done.
I think I might have gone with that on a per half basis if it were me, but as long as an official is still up there looking at every play I'm good with it.

My only complaint with the system last year was that it seemed that coaches sometimes had to call timeout on their own, just to give the guys upstairs a chance to get a good look before play continued.

Yeah, I think that's why the challenge is the best thing. This way, if you win it there's not timeout charged. If you lose it, you lose the timeout. I don't see anything wrong with that. Seems to work in the NFL pretty well......most of the time.

Oh, I missed that part of your post. Yeah, I agree. Might as well. If they're willing to waste a timeout on it, why not?
