If I was Les, I'd take the first job that I was offered and get out of there

LSU: President F. King Alexander tells the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report that the decision to keep Les Miles didn’t come until after halftime of last week’s game against Texas A&M. Public support and Miles’ potential buyout were factors in the decision.

With that contract, you make them fire you IMO. Poor business move to leave $15mil on the table.

Cowherd making a great argument for Saban leaving right now. Says his pressers have taken on a different tone and he is sounding more and more like he is auditioning for something different. Maybe even broadcasting and that he has told his agent he "doesn't want to die" at alasalami. Listen to the rebroadcast.

Sonny Dykes: The Cal head coach has interviewed at Missouri and is in the mix at South Carolina and Virginia, according to Yahoo Sports’ Pat Forde, who adds that Dykes has an extension from Cal on the table, but he has not signed it.

This is interesting...

If UVA hires Sonny Dykes, I'll burn my degree.

and the Trojans have a huge name lined up per Cowherd. That's why their hiring process was kept so hush hush. He nails these types of the rumors. At least 13% of the time he does.

Just heard on Finebaum that Muschamp is "unlikely" to return to Auburn, per sources. Stated that he was considering DC at Georgia, DC at Bama, or HC at USCe.

Do him a favor, don't give him financial advice, the chances of Les getting a deal that he has now, pretty slim.

As far as Alexander, what he is saying is true, but it was a little more complicated than that.... he is saying what I was told, he stopped the conversation. Jimbo was the guy though.

I can tell you the chances of Jimbo of ever being at LSU in the future don't look good.... Jimbo kind of burned that bridge from what I was told.

Imagine Saban yelling at Muschump on national TV --- no way he goes to Alabama

Hmm, its his old boss, of course, I have no idea why someone hasn't put the little guy in a neck hold on TV yet.... stay tuned.

So does this mean that Auburn "sort of fired" Muschamp?

Auburn: Defensive coordinator Will Muschamp is not expected to return, according to AL.com. Muschamp is in the mix for the South Carolina head coaching job or could possibly end up as an assistant at Georgia or Alabama. Keep in mind: Muschamp's $1 million buyout owed to the school went away after Auburn's regular season ended. He can now leave the school at no cost.

Why would Gus fire him?

Apparently Memphis has hired a coach, will make an announcement tomorrow afternoon.

Edit: it appears they've hired Arizona State OC Mike Norvell. If true that's a nice hire.

Missouri: Sources confirm to FootballScoop that Missouri will make Barry Odom their new head coach. Odom has agreed to a five year deal the school has now announced.

[Heck of a night for Jimmy Sexton and team with both Norvell and Odom landing their first head jobs. Crack something open Jimmy.]

Stanford: ESPN’s Adam Schefter says the expectation remains that David Shaw will continue to turn down interest from the NFL.

Memphis: Arizona State offensive coordinator / quarterbacks / deputy head coach Mike Norvell will be named head coach at Memphis, per Sports Illustrated. Norvell has been at Arizona State since 2012 and has spent nearly his entire coaching career with Todd Graham.
