Bowling Green: Regarding reports linking him to Syracuse, Dino Babers said in a statement, “I am focused on Bowling Green State University and our goal of winning a MAC championship.”

What is ECU doing??? What are they expecting?? Ruffin was great for them...no way Riley comes back he has it made at OU and can be in line for a p5 job if he wants it down the line

In other words, yeah I'm taking the job.

I guess they want Lincoln Riley.

You would think so

I would be SHOCKED if Lincoln Riley even would answer the phone if #ECU calls him. He and Ruffin McNeill have a great bond.

Bruce Feldman saying they might be targeting Rod Carey from NIU. Apparently he has a relationship with the ECU AD. Seems like a lateral move at best though for Carey.

Saw that. Said the only way Riley answers the phone is to tell ECU to **** themselves.

This offseason has been very telling about the future: If you want to fire your coach in order to land a "big fish", keep dreaming.

East Carolina: ESPN's Joe Schad notes three possible names for ECU include Middle Tennessee head coach Rick Stockstill, NC State offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Matt Canada and Northern Illinois head coach Rod Carey.

Couple things stick out so far in my opinion. What is ECU thinking and why is Virginia having such issues landing a decent coach?

Virginia: The Daily Progress reports BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall is the new head coach at Virginia. Mendenhall is 99-42 in 11 seasons at BYU. More coming on CoachingSearch.com.

Didn't see that one coming, Virginia schools did well this cycle.

South Carolina: South Florida head coach Willie Taggart will interview for the South Carolina head coaching job today, according to Sports Illustrated’s Pete Thamel. Arizona head coach Rich Rodriguez and Greg Schiano will also interview.

You're not screwing with me right?

I cannot believe Willie would entertain that job. I think this is a ploy for a raise and nothing more. He's finally got USF going where he envisioned it being and believes he can win a NC there. I'm not sure that's possible as the G5 schools are never gonna get their opportunity unless they have a killer OOC resume.

No way Stockstill leaves MTSU, his QB son is having a monster freshman season and at least the next few years look pretty bright (for a mid major program).

Apparently Missouri has let go of defensive line coach Craig Kuligowski. Someone needs to hire him immediately. Arguably the best dline coach in America.

North Texas: The school’s board of regents will hold a conference call Saturday to discuss the contract for the new head coach, according to the Denton Record-Chronicle. The paper adds that the school has already discussed parameters with North Carolina assistant head coach of offense / tight ends coach Seth Littrell, who is considered the leading candidate.

Wonder where Pease is headed?

Washington: Wide receivers coach Brent Pease will not return next season, and he will not coach in UW’s bowl game. Pease spent two years at UW after two years as Florida’s offensive coordinator. Keep track of open FBS assistant jobs here.

He coached with DJ Durkin at Florida. Of course he could just been fired.
