Has anybody heard anything about us being turned in to the NCAA by Alabama for possibly being in violation of NCAA rules by allowing Demonte Bolden to practice and travel to Dallas with the team.

I saw a blurb about this on another site, but I couldn't really make any sense out of it.

Link It's about halfway down the page.

Well, I heard that Briscoe was going to practice with the team too. I don't think that is illegal.....the bammers need to get a life and own up to what they have done. They wouldn't have been in trouble if they would have obeyed the rules.

I hear this type of thing quite often living in Bammerville. For example, Gallion continually spouts off about the Jamie Naugth??? (don't remember her name) thing with Peyton as evidence of the conspiracy. However, even if some type of harassment occurred, it is not an NCAA matter. Anything that happens at UT is viewed here as evidence of them getting away with NCAA violations when they (bama) was unfairly singled out.

This is clearly the new "tradition" at UA since the old one of winning has gone away.

Just another bama pipe dream....LOL

Here is the rule ( the Vols did nothing wrong )

NCAA By-Laws state:
14.1.8.1.1 Practice Prior to Initial Enrollment

A student-athlete may practice during the official vacation period immediately preceding initial enrollment, provided the student has been accepted by the institution for enrollment in a regular, full-time program of studies at the time of the individual’s initial participation; is no longer enrolled in the previous educational institution; and is eligible under all institutional and NCAA requirements.

If Bama TRASH fans could read, then they would actually know of the FACTS of their recent probation.

But since all they have is Finebaum and Gallion to listen to, thats all they can understand.

I think they would rather blame it on Fulmer and UT instead of actually admitting that their school broke rules.

We dropped ball on rules, Tide says
Bama mistakenly thought Vols erred with bowl practices

Alabama admitted Tuesday it made a mistake in not allowing three mid-year enrollees to travel with the football team to Nashville last week for the Music City Bowl.

The mistake resulted from a miscommunication with Southeastern Conference officials regarding NCAA rules.

"There was a miscommunication of the rule on our part, which led to the belief that we were in accordance with NCAA rules," Alabama compliance director Chris King said in a statement.

"The misinterpretation of the legislation did not result in a NCAA or SEC violation, but resulted in our incoming mid-year enrollees not taking part in team practices at the bowl site."

The three players - quarterback John Parker Wilson, offensive lineman Drew Davis and defensive back Lionel Mitchell - participated in eight bowl practices on campus before the Tide broke for Christmas.

They were not allowed to rejoin the team in Nashville to participate in the five practices leading up to the bowl game.

The mistake came to light after Alabama officials noted that Tennessee took two mid-year enrollees to Dallas to participate in practices leading up to the Cotton Bowl. Alabama officials initially believed that Tennessee was in violation of NCAA rules.

"The athletic department is especially cautious with compliance issues and communicates daily with the SEC office and our coaching staffs in a diligent effort to remain NCAA and SEC compliant," King said in his statement.
