NCAA Team Of the Week!

From the article:
"Tennessee set the standard in the poll, appearing in the first 10 spots for 212 consecutive weeks from March 10, 1997, to Dec. 18, 2008. Tennessee's long run in the top 10 would go back even further if not for finishing the final poll of the 1997 season at No. 11. Before that, the team had been in the top 10 every week since the final poll of the 1986 season."

The season is still young, but I can honestly say that so far this one has been the most fun in a long, looooong time -- and that includes those championship years.

I think it's because of everything that has happened since Pat's diagnosis on. All the heartache and disappointments piling up and up until it got so heavy it crushed my Lady Vol spirit a little. And it has finally come back to me. I'm grateful to these kids for giving me that. :)

This team is so resilient, so joyful to watch as they have taken pride in clawing the program back into being seen as a tough out again. That is EVERYTHING to this longtime supporter. Sure, they'll eventually lose some games. Of course they will -- undefeated seasons are nearly impossible to achieve. But I trust this team to give good effort every time they run onto the court, and I know the players trust what the staff tells them. How fun is THAT!? :D

They're showing a lot of grit, and I think that more than anything is what's winning these close games. They are outhustling and outgrinding their opponents. This would never have happened during Holly's years; those teams would be the ones that would cough up the lead late in the game and let their opponents take it away from them. This is a huge achievement for Kellie to get them playing with this kind of mindset, and I'm sure the fans appreciate seeing it.
