Both the men's and women's basketball programs are under heavy fire from the NCAA. Take a look at USA Today for details.

Apparently, that is what it takes these days for wanna be's to win ball games.

Not surprised... they were top 10 in everything this year and won a Heisman trophy.

Baylor has already implemented self-imposed penalties, which include loss of scholarships (one for the men's team, two for the women's), restrictions on Drew, Tang and McKinney's recruiting calls and Mulkey being prohibited from recruiting off-campus during the summer recruiting period.

The committee on infractions could accept Baylor's penalties or add additional ones.

Dont think that'll cut it. With Baylors success, the AA' will be lickin their chops on this one.

Wouldn't surprise me if they find more than just some illegal calls and texts.

Nothing like a school that holds christianity on its sleeve and then cheats therefore making a mockery of it. Hypocrites. They should have got drilled a few years back for the Bryant Dennehy ordeal. The coach covering that up and blasting players posthumous reputation was horrible.

You mean Scott Drew was cheating this whole time?!?!?! Surely not. He's pure as the driven snow.

For the record, Baylor is not nearly as associated with the Baptist denomination of the Christian faith as it once was.

Um, they DID get drilled for that. The NCAA canceled half of a season and banned them from the postseason for two years. Dave Bliss has a lifetime show-cause.

Maybe not, but they still consider themselves a Baptist University. In fact, I have a friend that worked in the music department there. She told me that in order to be considered for tenure as a faculty member, you had to be an active member of a Christian church in the area. This is not common in higher ed, and is in fact illegal in public institutions.

The NCAA announces this AFTER they raked in all the tv cash for the Women's Tourney. Another bunch of money grabbing do-gooder liberals.

Not to belabor the point, but you do know it is a PRIVATE university, correct?

Yep, they got nailed. That is why the sudden rise to relevance was so astounding and obviously suspect. Noone, especially Scott Drew, could take Baylor from that low to that high in such a short period of time.
