That's what the ACC is proposing for this years tournament. That would be...uh intersecting to say the least I guess.

Everyone would play a conference-only schedule, and then all 360+ teams would be seeded for the tourney.
I like it. I always thought would be funny to see the best matchup against the absolute worst. Walk ons could actually start second half and tell their grandkids they played in The NCAA tournament.

How isnt this just another season? You would need at least 9 or probably 10 rounds to make it work. Depending on the final numbers there could easily be 10 teams playing twice in a round or doing play in games on top of the 10.

Right. Conference-only season; everyone in the pool for the postseason.
How is that better? Instead of knowing months in advance and being able to prepare schools would have a week or two tops between conference finals and the expanded tournament? Which is by expansion April Madness?

I think the working theory is that they'e create a number of "bubbles" in which to place different chunks of the bracket.

I suggested doing the same for this year's college football season and I got blowed up real good!

I think it would be fun and it wouldn’t be that many extra games. Let’s assume there are 360 teams.
The top 152 get a first round bye and the bottom 208 would play a game to get us to 104 plus the 152 so we have 256. That means the top 152 teams would only play 2 extra games (potentially). Could be fun.
