I picked up a program at the ND game and they spin their accomplishments in a Bama - esque (474 NC's) type of way.

For example in their list of undefeated/untied teams, they list the 1889 Irish with a record of 1 - 0!

Worse, they have a list of "1-loss" seasons and they include the 1887 team that went 0 - 1!

2. Notre dame football

Hey there sour grapes - go check out the back the Vol Football progam - you guys do the same thing. I thought you guys weren't going to whine this year....

Whining, yeah, but it's been whining about our team sucking so bad on offense and special teams. Usually we don't whine about other stuff....we keep it in house, well, except for that non catch for a td for Jabar Gaffney for UF against us in 2000....i whined about that for about a year or two. LOL!

My thing with the teams i mentioned above is the arrogance of the fan base...in '96 we beat Alabama, and after the game their fans were getting on the bus just saying "we're still Alabama"...so what? Like we should bow down and say thank you? UCN BBall same way...the year they didn't go to the NCAA tournament, you'd a thought that some one had taken their God Given right to post season play...."we're UNC, we're owed the right to go the tourney" Oh man, it was painful to listen to around here...And you got to admit, the ND alumni are no different when it comes to football...All this we don't need a conference, we have a national TV contract, we have 12 NC's blah, blah, blah...All three have ONE HUGE THING in common....all living in the past. The past doesn't give you rights to anything in the present, whereas, at least for me, when i think about UT football, i look back on our accomplishments with pride, but i don't think what we did in 1986, 1989, 1997 or 1998 has anything to do with current performance...it changes the expectaiton level, but not some "right" to better things, just because "we're Tennessee"....

Well MY point was that a week ago, we treated the Vols with dignity and respect after the game. I drank beers with a '90 grad until three in the morning at the Linebacker (local bar) trading Ut and ND football stories. I just think your comments are ill-timed given such a great weekend...

It wasn't meant to be whining. I had a good time at the game (except for the losing part).

I was just poking fun because it just cracked me up when I saw that in the program.

In the words of Bart Simpson, don't have a cow man!

Not to change the subject, but I've had a revelation today - I HATE ALABAMA. I hate them. Everything about them. So, I will continue to visit volnation.com, just so I can hear what other Bama haters have to say.

No, and neither does Alabama.

I'll change the subject again - I was in the Linebacker briefly before the game.

The group I was with was there for the ND/UT game last time and got to meet Ron (the enormously big dude with the bad attitude). He mentioned that he like Lee Greenwood. My friends (from Nashville) brought him an autographed photo of Lee Greenwood and presented to him before the game. Next time you're in there, look for it.
