These two would benefit their conferences and their own individual pockets if they made that switch now. WVU should play in the BIG 10 next year and Nebraska should make that move back to the Big 12. It makes all the sense in the world. Back to some really good regional and state border rivalries. Just a thought. Now is the time.

The Big 10 prides itself on an academic standard that WVU cannot meet. A lot of that is chest-puffing egotism, but it would prevent the move, regardless.

That is one thing I never liked about all the conference shuffling the last few years.

In a perfect world, West Virginia would be in a Big East conference with Pitt, Syracuse, possibly even Penn State (amongst others). Nebraska would still be with Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado, etc. Texas and Texas A&M would still play every year. Conferences regional and rivalries restored and played every year. Won't happen but it sure would be nice.

Nobody wants Nebraska back. Nebraska and Oklahoma haven't played since the Nubs left...one of the biggest rivalry games in CF. It's like A&M said when they left... it's a 100 year decision.

This makes zero sense. WVU is the worst ranked academic school in the P5, has zero in state talent, a stadium under 60k, and a very small state population for tv draw. Nothing about that says B10. Also zero chance they'd compete with B10 programs.

Nebraska hates UTejas and will never agree to be under their command again. B12 also makes significantly less money.

So it's actually a lose lose for all involved. People who would ever want to regularly compete against WVU have obviously never interacted with their fans much. Pitt, Cuse, BC, and VT actively campaigned to keep them out of the ACC for good reason.

No, WV should join ACC or SEC. BIG10 is dead.

I'd like to see Virginia Tech in the SEC. It wouldn't open up a big new TV market, but it makes sense from a cultural, recruiting, and geographical perspective and I think over time we would develop a rivalry with them.

The SEC wants AAU schools and schools with fans in big markets. This is why ATM and MO were selected in our last expansion. VPI and WVA would never make the cut.

I would welcome any of those schools (Clemson, OU, UTjr, etc to the SEC. Would love to see their records and how healthy they would be after grinding through an SEC schedule.

I'm assuming you mean the SEC West? Did you watch the last two Sugar Bowls???

I think VPI would make the cut with their huge alumni base and expanding the TV footprint into the Tidewater, Richmond, and Metro DC area. If they were good enough Academically to join the ACC then I would think they are good enough for the SEC. To me they are the most natural, realistic fit for SEC expansion. UVA, UNC, and Duke would never entertain joining the SEC, at least pre-Covid.

Speaking to some others in this thread, why would anyone want to get rid of Vandy? Why would you ever feel the need to try and bring a Clemson (will never happen) or an OU and drop Vandy? We’re playing 5 top 13 teams this year, I’m pretty damn happy that we get Vandy before play Florida.
