Nebraska and Oregon scheduled a home and away for 2016-2017 so our series was pushed back. I think it makes sense because of the Battle at Bristol game against V-Tech. It would have been a tough schedule to play VTech, Nebraska, and the SEC schedule all in one season. I know we aren't supposed to run from anyone but a team can only take so much. You have to have some easy games on your schedule to work out kinks and rest injured players.

Here is the link.

Now we just need to push back the Oklahoma series to accomodate the fact that we are not the Tennessee of the 1990's, but instead are a team with 6 losing seasons in 9 years and that has spent 1 week in the top 25 in 6 years, and will be playing a bunch of true freshmen, a new QB, and an entirely new offensive and defensive line next year...

Now only if Oklahoma was moved

If you're looking for sympathy for UT from the college football world they'll tell you to grab a dictionary and look between Sh&t and syphilis!

Didn't the Hamilton dealings to schedule home-and-home with Oregon, Oklahoma, and Nebraska from 2011 through 2017 also include home-and-home with tOSU and USC-west in 2018-2021?

Ohio state cancel the series back in 2011 due to the "chance" the big ten decides to go to a 9 game conference schedule.

Not just anybody can have an ubber-tough out of conference schedule like Vandy (Old Dominion, Temple, UMass, Charleston Southern).

When the Bristol game against Virginia Tech was announced it was also announced that we would be pushing Nebraska home and home with Tennessee back a decade

No one's sure if a USC game was ever actually scheduled in writing or not. There was just word from one side of a "verbal agreement"

At the time they were set on either going to 9 games or creating a set up of 8 games plus a rotating pac-12 game each year…I actually wouldn't be shocked if more schools in the conference had dropped some games because of it

They did decide to go to 9 games though. They start it in 2016.

Our conference is actually the only ones not doing that at this point.

Throw Miss State into that pile (up until this season at least…and that's mainly because they got an invite from a neutral site game in a big city) (check their scheds from 2009 up until 2013)

Agree...but it's probably not gonna happen.

I don't want us buying out of anymore games, it makes us look scared and weak.

So I'm glad that this was pushed back and the media could look at it and not put it on us.

As for the Vandy schedule next year, well I'm sorry but I think they should have to play more than 2 OOC games against opponents that have been in the FBS longer than 5 years to be eligible for a bowl. The fact they play one non-FBS team should force them to win at least 7 games to be bowl eligible. I don't think its fair to count a victory, towards a bowl game, against any teams not in your own division.

But then again thats why noone, but some of our fans, consider CJF a real candidate for a top coaching job. They use him so they can say they gave a minority an interview. He would need to go to another small school in a real conference and repeat the "success" at Vandy but against a real OOC schedule to ever be seriously considered for a top job. Or he could buyout all these cupcakes and FCS/former FCS teams and schedule a couple of real OOC games and still try to win 8-10 games at Vandy.

Who's drunk uncle comes up with the schedule? Can I request we add Florida State and USC or UCLA? Maybe we could scrimmage the Super Bowl champion the weekend before the season opener?

As much as I love a strong OOC schedule, I would like to see us get a chance to truly rebuild. I think 2015 will be an exciting season for us as it is.

I checked. "Sh&T" is not in the dictionary. Is it possible you may have had a typo, and meant something else?
