Nebraska Series Cancelled

Their is no Indiana route on the SEC. Folks want to see at least one good out of conference match up.
There was a rule to have at least one P5 school on the OOC schedule (in deference to South Carolina vs. Clemson, Georgia vs. Ga Tech, Fla vs. Fla St., Ky. vs. Louisville, etc.)....one year UT played Virginia which was just about the weakest P5 school there was.

And Florida played Florida St this past season. They might’ve been the worst P4 school this past year by the time they played Florida. Not our fault that UVA sucked and not Florida’s fault that FSU sucked. It makes sense that we have played an ACC school the past 4-5 years bc it makes our schedule comparable to our old SEC East foes.

I have no problem starting home and homes w/ anyone . I think playing Kansas St, Arizona St, Colorado would be fun from the Big 12. UNC, Clemson, Va Tech would be good from the ACC and Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Minnesota etc.. would all be good. I actually think all P4 leagues should have a scheduling agreement where one league plays a different league each season. Make it the same as how the NFC East teams get the AFC North one year, AFC West and South the next . I think that would be one of the more fair models to help w/ CFP at large bids.

See if we can get Virginia Tech again. I like the idea of playing them because of how close the campuses are. I am surprised it didn't turn into a rivalry.

Much rather have a out of conference game with more appeal myself. I would much rather have a series with Mich, Notre Dame or USC. UCLA,Wisconsin or Penn St would also be a fun series. GBO

I went to the Battle at Bristol and I'm sure I'll get roasted, but no thanks.

It was cool to do once. Set an attendance record that likely never gets broken. Got a ton of publicity for both schools.

It was a logistical nightmare. I stayed with my Dad who lives 5 miles from the track and door to door It was a solid 12hr day and that was very little tailgating. Unless you were fortunate to have lower level seats, you basically watched the game on the giant screen...could have done that at the local bar and spent a lot less on beer. Finally, it was a once in a lifetime event, so keep it that way - I'm not sure you can draw 150K+ two years in a row.
The speedway lost a ton of money on this. I can almost guarantee you this won't happen again. Ever

No hate here. I think you summed it up pretty well. It was really cool setting that attendance record here in the Tri. But it's a terrible venue for a football game.

If they are going to do a home and home with another P4 school these are the only ones with openings

Boston College
Florida State (plays Bama in 26 and UGA in 27, very unlikely)
Pitt
Stanford
TCU
Notre Dame
USC (has 1 non conference game open in 27 but that probably will be Notre Dame)
Washington
Of those, Pitt would be great for another Majors Classic. Or Washington, a nice 4-year series (unless the '29-'30 games are canceled) where the sailgate school play for the first time.

That’s why I said UNC
I really wish we would could have a standing home and home with UNC or Virginia Tech. Preferably UNC bc I live 15 minutes from Chapel Hill and could go easily. It’s a border state, 5 hour trip, they could actually see what a big time football atmosphere is. Makes too much sense .

I would think their stadium capacity of 50k may be an issue. Can't think of another non-conference away game played in a stadium that small.
