Going by the spread they're giving NC State 5 points so if you pick TENN they have to win by at least 6 for you to win if I remember correctly. All the other stuff I'm not to sure and would like to know. I have no doubt with so many experts on this forum someone can break it down for me.

ML means you just bet on Tennessee to win the game but you have to bet $190 to win $100. Total is the combined total points of both teams, bet the over and it's $100 to win $115.

I don't bet, but yes, the Big Orange must win by 5. Now, this (5) can change right up to the minutes before kickoff. It's a 100 buck bet. Still a lot of cash to risk.

Yes, if TN wins by 5 you get your money back. If they win by more than 6, you earn money.

O is the over on total points and u is total points under.

Money line (ML) is just betting on who wins or loses.

Betting is a lot like electrical work.

If you need it explained to you before you start, you'll probably be shocked by the results.

You can bet any amount allowed but the numbers are based on a $100 bet

If you bet the over 5 today and the line moves, do you keep the line you bet on?

Ha, my father was a bookie for many years in OR. He told me that about 3-4% of his bettors came out ahead over a years time.
He died about 20 years ago.

True, the line can move up until kickoff. But, once you buy your ticket, your line is set by whatever is on your ticket…regardless of what the line does after you buy it.

I rarely bet and if I do its never on a Tennessee game in any sport. I did that once and both the team and I both lost. Thanks for all the explanations, the ML betting seems like an awful strategy.

You could join the 1st Quarter Boys and become rich by mid-season.

No! If you wagered $100 on the over the payout would be roughly $185.

He must have had some dumb customers then. If you are betting the $11 to win 10 the house edge is about 5%. You need to be right about 53% of the time to come out ahead. Sports betting gives the player a much better chance to win than say the slots or the Lottery. Casinos would just as soon not have the sports book as the house edge is lower and it is much more labor intensive than say slots or video poker. They only offer it to bring customers into the house and hopefully steer them to the slots.

Tennessee vs UTC Betting Line

The Vols open the season with UT-Chattanooga, and as you'd imagine, they are MASSIVE favorites in Vegas. According to FanDuel, the line is currently set at Tennessee (-38.5) points with a total set at 56.5 points. Initially, the line was set at 41.5 points.

Draftkings is onboard with Fan Duel and has the game spread also set at 38.5 points. However, they have the over/under set 57 points, so both sites are expecting a lot of points to be scored on Saturday and the majority of them to be in favor of the Volunteers.
