Need Help With Using a Computer to Make DVDs

I used the software that came with my laptop to make a DVD of a past game, but it freezes every time I try to burn it do disc. And, there is enough room on the disc.

Does anybody make DVDs on their computers?

What software do you use to edit?
What do you use to import audio/video clips from a DVR, VHS, etc. to your computer?

Any advice would be very helpful! :hi:
