Watching the Colorado game, I was more impressed by the Colorado State coach going to the portal and getting 11 to come come to his team. Why can't coach H. see that he needs to invest in lineman? It's great to get big star players at skilled positions, but you got to have a line. It all starts there.

Campbell - Miami
Karjic- Texas
Omarr Lott - AZ State
Mincey - Florida

Heupel has been limited somewhat during his first two real classes with a loss of 6 scholarships each year. I believe it’s impacted who they could pursue in the portal.
Yep, we easily forget the NCAA investigation that was going on and the damage it was doing as well.

CJH is a former QB, I don’t think he undervalues the importance of line play, especially on the offensive side of the ball.

Yeah I hear guys on the radio who claim they “cover” the program and they fail to mention the 6-10 less players each yr and the negative recruiting opponents have used, in some instances, successfully against Tennessee the last two years.

Our OL is better than they have played because of the absence of Mays. We don't have a true center and it showed up Saturday night when we played SEC level talent. If you don't get the right call and get a hat on a hat you're going to look bad. Way too many plays where Florida defenders were coming free. As long as Cooper is a spectator, we're not going to play to our capabilities. Not going to knock Ollie, he's a guard doing the best he can. But it wasn't pretty in the Swamp.

Maybe the staff needs to pull a Deion and just raid the portal in the offseason wholesale. Replace half the team lol.

Gameday decisions…if you buy that
Mincy maybe. I'm not sure I roll Mays out there this week. Rep Mays in practice to help timing and conditioning, but even without Mincy and Mays, we should be able to handle UTSA. If Mays has a setback at this point, this season might be circling the drain.

Mincey and Mays have not been playing. Those are big shoes to fill. If they get back, our O line should be much improved. JMHO

All day long. Especially Mays. The center is the captain of the offensive line. Ollie had like three false starts last week that started two drives as 1st and 15 and negated our gain on a third drive that created a 3rd and 10 instead of a 3rd and 5 if I recall correctly. In any case, you can't make those mistakes against a fired up SEC opponent in their stadium and expect to win. I mean just to put things into perspective, had we even gotten field goals on two of those three drives on the final drive of the game we are marching toward the end zone to tie and had the refs not effed up our one drive by kicking the ball and allowing Florida to substitute, the game likely could've been tied had we gotten a touchdown on that drive. I know it's all coulda, woulda, shoulda, but it goes back to what Heupel said that each possession is important.

I believe we struck out on some. We got a handful of transfers. Mincey being one of them who just got slammed for pot which could explain a lot of others are participating. A shame some of these kids are getting high that have NFL level talent. I’m not here to throw stones, but it just seems counter productive.

Great thread. The injuries on our 0-line have exposed our depth. I agree 100% with OG here.
