I usually tailgate and grill or do Sweet P's before games but for Sunday I want to do something different. My parking pass is c21 just off 17th street. What are some good places to eat and have drinks on the strip? Maybe some places around town near campus or across town? Just want to get some ideas from people in and around knoxville.

I attend alot of games, but just want to try something new. Used to park in 11th street garage and we either grilled or went to Sweet P's. We never went up to the strip so I'm not sure what's even up there anymore. I'd love to get some ideas or suggestions. The strip, old city maybe, anywhere across town. We really want to sit and eat and have beers around 12:30. I'm tempted to try old city maybe barleys but I don't know how parking is down there on gamedays.

I used to enjoy the Roaming Knome. It's right off the strip and had a few solid brews.

The guy saying the Gnome is closed is correct. It's a different bar now. Same with Bar Knox which is now Rumorz. There's new CI which is Goal Post Tavern in the old Chilis. Half Barrel is across the street and probably has the best draft beer selection. A bit behind GPT is Cool Beans and across from Taco Bell is Tin Roof. You'll find people in orange everywhere, but my recommendations would be Half Barrel, Cool Beans, and GPT in that order. You can eat anywhere.

I went in cool beans and half barrel like 7 years ago or so, both seemed cool although it was a Tuesday night after a basketball game in December. This is probably what I'll do Sunday though.
