If you get off of I-75 onto Richmond Rd (transitions into main street), take a left on Upper. DO NOT TAKE A RIGHT ON LIMESTONE!

If you have the time and want to take a more scenic, less traveled route, get on 27 North in Oliver Springs and it will pretty much take you right in front of the stadium, eventually.

Edit: Driving through Lexington is extremely more complicated compared to Knoxville. Patience will be your best friend.

Map it out before you go. Wife just told me there is a "Thriller Parade" downtown that evening. This coupled with Breeders Cup, and the ball game, man, I do not envy any who are there that night.

Pretty sure 27 takes you right by Brannon Crossing as you start heading close to town. Cracker Barrel out there is always a safe choice for my family.

Oh, and don't attempt to drive around near campus. Stay away from everything having to do with that. Traffic is always bad, and I'm sure if you got caught in there it'd be awful. Luckily Commonwealth is on the edge there.

Man its been a while since I've been to Lexington (wife was born and raised there). The Richmond Road exit used to be the first exit coming from Knoxville, if I remember correctly.

The last time I drove thru there was 2002 for FIL furneral. Lexington, at that time, looked as if it had trippled in size from 1982.

I remember driving south on Upper (Nicholasville Road?) thru campus and all the freaking green and red X's!

Oh yeah, I remember those too. Dang, even in my lifetime it's changed a lot. Even after growing up here I still suck at navigating. All I know is you can get anywhere via New Circle, but there's countless faster ways if you know what you're doing. Sadly, I don't.

Lexington is pretty nice..you probably won't have a problem finding something decent.

Lexington is great. Plenty of great eats and pub spots, and you won't get mugged or stabbed as is routine in Louisville.
