Does anyone think that with Pearl avoiding making a prediction on his future that it may mean he is out forever? I mean I understand this is serious and all, but is this the same type of thing that Duke Crews went through, all be it not getting to this level of severity?

No, this is more of a Davis Nwankwo situation. At least that is what I gather.

Is there ANY possible way he could play again??? I just hate that his career might be over. I realize this was serious and Im incredibly happy and praise God that it wasnt worse, but I hope he doesnt have to quit playing basketball because it sounds like his family was really depending on him.

He had a type of pacemaker implanted. He is doing very well. He is still experiencing some pain according to the trainer Newman but is adjusting. He is getting lots of academic support and may be able to provide inspiration like Inky Johnson with the football team but there is 0% chance he plays this year. They are not saying this publicly, but it would be a miracle if he ever plays again.
