CBJ said after today's practice that Neiko Creamer is being experimented at TE! I like this plan due to his speed and ball skills that would kill a LB trying to cover him but I also think he would be great at LB for the same reasons. I'm supporting CBJ & staff on this one!

I always wondered why they didn't move him there in the first place. He would certainly add some much-needed athleticism there, to go along with Wolfe and Helm.

Fine but hopefully he Redshirts. If we sign a TE in 2015 it is a waste of scholarship IMO

SO - Branisel
FR - Wolf, Helm, Creamer

Also, we rarely even use them and certainly not multiple TEs

We didn't run 2-TE sets because we didn't really have 2 SEC level TE's. Didn't even have one. He will be depth, because of the switch at this late stage. But if they had moved him there in the Spring, he might be pushing the other 2 guys. We'll see. It's a good problem to have.

This. We will run two-TE sets this year, and may even see one near the tackle and one split out in the slot or out wide. Didn't have the personnel to fiddle with it before.

Sounds like he is a good enough athlete that the coaching staff is just trying to find some way to get him on the field. Its nice to have these "problems" again.

Ill trust the coaches decesion either way.

TEs aren't the flashiest players and don't generate a lot of hype, but having good ones on the field makes an offense much much more effective. I'm glad the staff is suring up the position.

We already have one committed for 2015, Kyle Oliver. Gotta keep recruiting all positions for depth.

Creamer or helm red shirting will probably happen. As well as Oliver red shirting next season... 5th year tight ends are very beneficial. It's a mans position bc you have to be on the line in short yardage, then learn how to be a receiver which is sometimes hard to do with the weight they play at

TE will be huge in the future of this offense. Takes a ton of pressure off of the QB. They can mean the difference of a 5 yard sack for loss or a short gain. Put a LB on them and watch the slot get open.
