Wow. Can you imagine?

Of course, he is a Vandy kid, so he could be so spoiled that was only the second coolest thing to happen to him that day.

Or maybe the assumption wasn't based on his question, but rather the fact that he goes to Vandy.

Not trying to be a douche, and it's a cool story, but the story as I read it says the kid asked him if they could play together, Billy Joel said "okay", and they played together.

It just seems weird to refer to it as a "stunning response"

That's a huge notch to be able to put on the resume if you're wanting a career as a pianist.

But really, it doesn't mean anything. Studio musicians work with the biggest artists, receive virtually no recognition, and they're a dime a dozen.
