The only reason Miss St has a net income is because of Cam's generous "donation" for State keeping their mouths shut about him.

Wtf. Is this because of our buyouts?
.

Issue has been raised by some over the classification of revenue minus expenses in this series as “profit,” since athletics departments are nonprofit organizations. It should be noted, that in the disclosures to the Department of Education, the athletics departments do not report either profit or net income. Rather, they report their revenues and expenses. For this series, profit/net income was calculated by subtracting the total expenses reported from the total revenues reported.

As noted above, the data used was obtained from the Department of Education and is from 2010-11. While this data is not perfect, it is the only data publicly available for both private and public institutions.

I like the article at the bottom that tried to compare the basketball coaches in terms of generated value, taking their compensation into consideration.

That's disappointing

Why? Do you donate to your school to see money get used or for them to sit on a pile of cash? Add in our recent payouts, upgrades, projects, etc and it makes sense

and how much money should a self-funded, non-profit business be making?

Don't feel bad Tennessee. Ole Miss is actually last. They are in the red.

Why would we feel bad? At the end of the day, you are still MSU. MSU has a losing record all time.....not sure how you accomplish that, even Ole Miss has a winning record. The most hyped coach they have ever had, has managed to be 3 games above .500.

hmmm. I found this surprising at first but when you factor in everything, sort of makes sense. Thanks for posting. Interesting.

Yeah, its a pretty funny joke of what the MSU Athletic Department, especially the football program has been and always will be.

So you think you think Tennessee's football program is better than State's right now? lol. Wow. I can't wait to play y'all this year. It will be a decent win for us.
