...yesterday when I met Phil Fulmer.

I noticed him when he came into my work and was like "...is that Coach Fulmer...??" Then one of my coworkers yelled "Hey Coach!" and I about flipped my lid.

Not that many of you guys will care, but I was excited and needed to tell someone. lol

Ran into CPF at the airport in Knoxville back in the day. He was using the urinal next to me. I said "Hi coach" then washed my hands and left.

Cool! Met coach in high school when I was 15 or 16. That was a big deal then and he was not even the HC. Nice story!

Fulmer had his many faults but I still believe much of the downfall came from same place does now. Fulmer ad aand staff above him sent our football and athletic department in a huge downward spiral. I wanted him out but most of the burden in my opinion was on people like cheek. To be like Alabama and win like they do the school as a whole is committed to that goal from top all way to bottom. We have not had that at UT in 15 years

That's Awesome man. I met him in 07 at the Outback Bowl signing party and then ran into him at the Super Bowl in Miami of 2010. The guy is super cool and seemed to find a way to make time for anyone who wanted to talk.

Did you get a chance to talk with him?

I respect and appreciate everything that Coach Fulmer did for Tennessee as a player and coach. His is truly a VFL.

I was down on Coach Fulmer at the end, but I love the guy for everything he did for UT. I agree that his loyalty to Tennessee is what endears him to me the most. I hope that 15-20 years from now, we're able to look back at Coach Jones' time as our coach with even more fond memories and GREATER success! Go Vols!

To those who asked if I got to shake his hand or take a pic, unfortunately no. I work at the bank so asking to take a picture with customer, even CPF, is frowned upon sadly. I did get to chat with him for a minute though about the Vols basketball game. They were about to start playing against UMass when he came in. I was wearing a UT polo and he was wearing an orange and white checker dress shirt. He teased me and asked what I was all dressed up in my orange for as if he wasn't dressed in his orange for the same reason. The guy was super nice and is CLEARLY a VFL. Apparently my coworkers said he comes in about once a month. Can't wait to see him again.

Does McCartney have a BCS championship trophy ?

Do you think invading the USA, forever changing music, having a wall full of platinum albums and case full of Grammy Awards comes close to one BCS Sears Trophy?

I feel ya there. Met him a few years ago in Kingsport. Couldn't believe it was actually him.
