New 2009 Team Recruiting Rankings

This probably is only a temporary spot for the Gators - there just is too much talent interested in playing in The Swamp for UF not to finish in the top 10. The early class of seven is flat-out scary.

I just threw up in my mouth a little. I just love looking up at Rutgers. I know it'll change, but it still sucks.

That's more a reflection of volume than quality. 18 recruits but not a lot of "star power" ranking.

14 sure looks a lot better than 35! Keep it coming, boys. There's still plenty of work to do.

Hndog is right. Some of these high rankings are only because they have a lot of committments. As we go along, it will start to even itself out. Oklahoma just bascially has a bunch of 3*

Thats a good point...and another thing is that this doesn't count the three JUCO's we will get...

From what I've read...Sykes and Williams? are expected to be 4* and Hall could possibly be the highest rated JUCO DT in the country and a 5*...

Its not a bad place to be in considering we are known for finishing...not starting...when it comes to recruiting...

I am hoping and....honestly...expecting a top 10 finish this year

blamie, not disputing what you said but do you remember where you might have read that about Hall? I'd love for it to be true but Rivals has him posted now as an unrated DE.

I think we will rise as our OL gains some stars. They are now on the radar with all their recruiting buzz, so their "star rating" will rise for sure!

Florida will finish in the top 10, but we will too. We could easily finish in the top 5. Schofield hasn't been issued stars and I wouldn't be surprised to see 2-3 extra stars added to the current commits in the end (Giles to 5, some of the OL to 4, Petty to 4, Oliver to 4, etc). Then add in the fact that Sykes, Hall, and Williams should all be 4 or 5 stars (assuming we take all, which we should). Then we have 11 spots left, give or take a few. Now look at some of the names that we are in the thick of it for:

David Oku
Marlon Brown
Rodney Smith
Morgan Moses
Stavion Lowe
Peter White
Sam Montgomery
Craig Drummond
Chris Davenport
Chris Bonds
Corey Gaines
Darrington Sentimore
Jerod Askew
Frankie Telfort
Barkevious Mingo
Brandon McGee
Eric Gordon
Darren Myles
Logan Thomas
D.J. Hunter

Some of these may be closer to long shots (while we are leading for others), but that's still a hefty list of 4 and 5 star players when we only have 11 spots left.
