New Bama Coach

the big rumor around here is Gary Barnett to the Tide.

That is not exactly the way to make sure a program stays squeaky clean, although some of the parties he throws might help them with recruiting.

'Bama has never been worried about being clean, just winning. That's why they can't stay out of trouble, or keep a coach.

Let me say it again:

UT has had 2 violations, Bama has had 3

UT has had 20 coaches, Bama has had 25

Not much difference right?

Not much differece, but if you look at the post Bear era, the stats tell a different story. The Bear is your benchmark and ever since he departed you have wandered the wilderness living in the past. Colin Cowherd made some great points on this yesterday. You could download the podcast.

Actually, as angry as a lot of fans in TN were last year at 5-6, we weren't myopic enough to can our coach and look at us now. 9-3 isn't bad. Shula was only 6-6 and you sent him packing after a 10 win season the prior year. I'm just saying that a year ago he was good enough for an extension and now he's a bum? Unrealistic expectations based on the standard the Bear set have destroyed your patience.

If the coach of Bama doesn't end up being Rodriguez or Johnson one or the other, I would be shocked.

Since 1970-

Tennessee has had 3 coaches (Battle, Majors, Fulmer)

Alabama has had 8 (Bryant, Perkins, Curry, Stallings, DuBose, Franchione, Shula, The Next Coach)

Thats not counting Price and Bryant coached till 1982. Therefore in 24 years Alabama's had 7 Coaches.

Theres a little bit of difference.

Yes UT has done very well in this area. Congrats.

Bill Curry, Gene Stallings, and Coach Fraud all left on there own. The administration has only fired three coaches in the last 7 years and the Price debacle was a given. And actually Dubose said he was resigning on his own.

Since 1977 when Majors was hired Alabama has had 8 coaches; Bryant, Perkins, Curry, Stallings, Dubose, Franchione, Shula, and whoever is named Sunday.

During that same period UT has had 2; Majors and Fulmer.

See the difference? Thats 4 times as many coaching changes as UT has had.

When, exactly, did UT have a serious enough infraction to land them on probation? Earn them a bowl ban? Required them to clean house in the coaches office? Suffer a multi-year, multi-scholarship reduction?

No school has a perfect record, but there is no comparison between the violations at UT and Bama:no:
