To not have LSU at number one at this point means you don't actually watch college football.

they're only down 30 votes, but i think there is something to be said about not dropping a number 1 when they're still winning and not struggling

The problem is, AP has also become kind of an over glorified piece of paper at this point...

This. But, we all already know that two of the three major polls that are ridiculous loads of horsecrap (and the two that happen to be used to determine the NC) by coaches and staff who don't watch games except by themselves and teams they will be playing, and a big group of idiots with blogs who couldn't tell an NCAA regulation football from a small dog.

as soon as they lose, they'll fall...shouldn't really be too big a worry; the numbers in december are the only ones that really matter

I don't see all the need for the debate about where LSU and Bama should be ranked. The question will certainly be answered this year.

Don't write Alabama off, they beat a higher ranked Arkansas team.

LSU throttled the previous years NC runner up and two other top 20 teams (all away from home).

Bama has beaten Penn St (who is always over ranked) and a flawed and over ranked Arkansas team missing Kniles Davis.

Bama is good. Bama is the 2nd best team in the nation right now.

But, in this week. LSU is the best, and it isn't even close.

That win Oklahoma had over FSU is starting to look worse and worse already.
