Interesting that he is listed as an inside backer. Seems to have the body type of a cover corner or strong safety.

why do you say that?? cause rivals and scouts.com dont think highly of them?? who the hell cares. we will still have a top 10 class, there are plenty of recruits that still want to come to ut..

how much do you want to wager. there is no chance of a top 10 class. even if he hits the next 7 as 4 star players he probably won't break the top 20. one he does't have the numbers. 2 we have 3 players out of 13 that might play before they are soph's. which means 3 playmakers. and one is a soft verbal. i predicted this especially on offense when you look that bad there is not a big name in america that will want to play for you. fulmer is in real trouble if he doesn't get the superior talent he is used to. as i said before the downward trend continues. worst recruiting class in maybe 20 years.

I don't get some of you people. You think that if we don't have a top 5 recruiting class, we are going to suck. Guess what folks, we've had top 5 recruiting classes the last 5 yrs and have pretty much sucked. How soon yall forget the Neb teams of the 90's. They hardly ever had a top 20 recruiting class, and they dominated, just ask the Tenn team that played them. I would rather have a bunch of 3 star kids that want to play and bust butt instead of a bunch of 5 star egomaniacs that want to be in the spotlight and care more about their NFL career than their career at Tenn. So we don't have a great class right now, so freaking what. Tell me 1 time in the past that going into Christmas Tenn has had a class stocked full of talent. Fulmer knows what he is doing on the recruiting front. Stop all your whining and just wait and see what happens. Geez

A little premature is what was said on GVX as to Lamarcus Thompson. They said that the UT coaching staff are evaluating him. So he is not considered a commit as of yet. As for Dorian Davis' committment, he isn't listed on rivals and scout.com has him listed as a 3 star. like ive said before not alot of dif. between 3, 4 , and 5 star recruits. Rivals will evaluate him and list him. here is the link to the free listing on scout.com

Hey, he's Redan HS alumnus. I'll vouch for anyone from Redan. No personal bias or anything....

eagle you forgot to mention under osborne nebraska had the #1 walk on program in the nation. your right we had great classes the last 5 years and we pretty much stunk it up. imagine if we didn't have the talent we have how bad we would be. our coaching stinks that is the reason we are no good. fulmer is usually a great closer that is true, but he doesn't have the numbers to fill this year. look at last year at this time and you can see a big difference in talent. not whining just stating a fact it will be his worst recruiting class at tennessee. i really don't think fulmer has a clue what has happened to the program either. after all this pans out there is no way fulmer will have a top 10 class it isn't possible now. he doesn't have the numbers or the major highly touted recruits.

He had an outstanding season this year. Although his team's record doesn't show it, it never does anymore, his own effort against some very hard-nosed teams was superb.

wow, look who we beat out...If some other big name schools were going after him it would make me feel better about landing him.

Just remember, just because a recruit is a 2 or 3 star when he comes to Tennessee, doesn't mean that he won't be 4 or 5 when he leaves Tennessee.

That's my approach to the recruiting season so far anyway.....

I agree 100% with your post. I can name alot of 5 star players that came here that were total bust. Let's not make to much of the players coming in let's develop the ones we have. History shows the defensive staff can develop players. It is not what they come in as it is what they do when they are here.

Its funny to hear some of you talk about top classes in recruiting. When having the top class means nothing at all. I would rather have 50 one star players that have a heart the size of Alaska than 100 five star players that care more about the NFL millions than college. College Football is starting to look alot like college basketball if you ask me. Look at the trend.....everyone wants to leave early. Damn Kelly Washington for what he did to Donte' Stallworth in 02'. When everyone can get off "Paper Champions" and recruiting all these five star players that don't want to play until the Scouting combines of the NFL and focus on getting people that want to play every down here at UT, then and only then will we be able to get this program back where it belongs and that is on top. Look at things like this.....just how many 5 star recuits play in the NFL as starters and how many win Super Bowls???? Look at Tom Brady (6th round), Terrell Davis (7th round), Joe Montana (3rd round), Steve Largent (4th Round, not a Superbowl winner but still a great WR), Roger Staubach (10th round, drafted in 1964), and Bart Starr (17th round, drafted in 1956). They weren't 5 star recruits but they did the job, obviously!! I personally welcome Dorian Davis, maybe he can show us what a T-E-A-M is really about!!

Anyone know the status of this commitment? Scouts is the only site with him listed. He's not listed on Rivals or on GVX. On GVX it said it was premature to call him a commitment and the staff is still evaluating him. Scouts had him listed at 1 star at first now he is listed as a Tennessee commit with them and he is listed as a 3 star. So is he committed to UT or not.

Some very good points. Do we want 5-star drama queens who want nothing but to help their NFL image or do we want those who would kill to play with an orange and white uniform and walk through the T? We could get the Leaks who bust or the Portis' who, thanks to Momma, think he needs to play elsewhere. I want drive and determination. I want pride. I'm tired of ME attitudes who do nothing but kill the morale of the team and poorly perform on the field after all of the hype.

According to KNS kid has accepted an offer. He is ranked 19th at MLB according to rivals. Looks like a good recruit, and plays in a district full of DI talent. GA Tech was the heaviest competition for his services.
