If you are indeed a writer, no wonder on one supports your posts. The media have and deserve no respect because 90% or more of what the print/say is incorrect and unfounded by facts. Regardless, we don't want or need your bias opinions here.

I am in agreement. He has offered no proof that he is a writer. He reminds me of the show catfish. The show consists of people acting like they are someone they are not on the Internet (usually they act like someone more important than they are). Bammer fits the model. All I ask is paper and website. Heck might as well give your name too. But he immediately ignores my request.

You tell me your name and place of employment, and I'll tell you mine.

Actually, no I won't.

Give the paper you work for? It's already public information. If you write like you said you do then what's the problem. I made no bones about who I am. I am a fan and that's it. You tried to say that you know more than I did because you are a sports writer. I called you out on it and said I didn't believe you.

It isn't "public information" since you don't know who I am. I could be Bob Costas and I'd still be anonymous on here.

Anyway, I'm offering to discuss the games in question. You could find out pretty quick whether I know what I'm talking about or not. Maybe you watched them and still came to the conclusion that Banks is the best DB in the country. I'd be surprised if that was the case, but anything's possible.

Anyway, the offer's on the table. You also avoided my question as to who was the best player in the country in '97, '08, and '09. I'm interested in your take.

*BTW, I'm not Bob Costas.

Not sure why you want to know mu thoughts on the best player from the country from 97, 08, 09 seasons. The forum topic is Wharton and what orange blooded fan wouldn't say Peyton Manning. Btw, heisman trophy does not mean best player because that's where you're going with this. I attached mission statement from heisman.com. We shorten their mission to "best player in college."

The point is that you pointed to one game that Bama lost but they are still playing for a natl championship and you cannot dispute that fact and the fact that there is a reason for Bama's sustained success under Sabin - Recruinting the best players in the country. And the last time I heard Bama hasnt had any more character issues than any other SEC team - frankly probably less than UT.

My point is that you can still compete with solid coaching. You have to have a foundation to build upon. UT didn't swing for the fence and hit the homerun hire that we had hoped for to automatically bring in 5 star talent. UT is not going to just draw 5 star talent on the name alone we have had 3 losing seasons in a row. We are going to have to win some games and draw some attention again. We have to get to where we dont have to take the chance on 1 or two 5 stars are year and hope they pan out. We need to be able to pick and chose what 5 stars we want. That is why AL,FL,LSU, and UGA are doing so well. They are able to hand pick who they want while we sit back and take the leftovers.

That was, without a doubt, the greatest hedge and deflection I've ever seen on this site. I'm impressed, and I'm not being sarcastic. You should be proud of that.

Let's be honest here, Texas A&M had the Heisman winner at QB so let's not act like they have some incredible team without their QB.

That being said, history proves that the winners in the top echelon of the SEC have a history of getting 4&5 star recruits. Period. Does that mean every 4&5 star recruit pans out? No.

What is your plan on getting these 5 star players in right away? Oh thats right UT has nothing to draw that 5 star that other teams dont have. So we are going to have to hope that we can get some stud 3 and 4 stars that fit the system and build upon it.

I am sorry bammer for wanting to spar with you via a message board. I was raised to believe that anytime a bammer fan said something, then I am supposed to take the opposite side because of course the bammer fan was wrong. I am not meaning this to be personal it's just the way I was raised. Plus, I enjoy arguing. Anyways, I am sorry people have had to witness this. One day I long for UT fans to get back to the way of my parents. You know, when a bammer fan would say, "what time is it?" And a Tennessee fan would retort, "your mother." So bammer fan I have enjoyed this but as my dad would say to a bammer fan, you can suck it.

Well, apparently we agree on something.

You were still wrong, though.
