The womens basketball program has been a source of pride for UT for many, many years...but has fallen a ton since Pat left. Lack of quality signees is a HUGE red flag and a change needs to be made asap before this spirals out of control. It's not as important as the football program. Not by a longshot. That's just reality, but it is a heritage womens bball program and if Holly can't recruit THIS program? That's a BIG problem. I don't know who the answer is but this is still one of the top 3 prestigious womens programs in the country and something has to be done before we get in a hole we can't dig out of.

If they paid me $1 million to quit, I would.

But then you only get that kind of a deal in corporate America.

he was a smart buffoon, at least smart enough to get that 5 million dollar buyout included in his contract. And he is still coaching football at a bigger scale than at UT. sad to say...

If the LadyVols collapse completely and don't make the NCAA's at all do y'all think that will move Hart to fire Holly?

If Phillip Fulmer was fired with a National Championship, and a couple of SEC Titles, Holly can be fired with three SEC Titles, and two Elite Eights in three years.

You clearly support holly and you have ever right too, but at the same time you make very critical comments on almost every one of your posts concerning freshman cooper?? that don't make sense..cooper will end up making you, and your asinine comments about her, look foolish

Well, unlike this message board, articles like these do attract the attention of people in power. So maybe view it as a positive "wake-up call" moment.

The problem is that this was ESPN's second less-than-flattering article in the past week. Link to the first one:

Tennessee Lady Volunteers struggle, suffer first loss of season

In addition to the articles, the TV commentators during the VA Tech game were highly critical of Holly and the team's performance.

Few people read what is written on VolNation. Recruits, high school coaches, and AAU coaches all read ESPN and watch the games on TV. What is happening in the program is not going unnoticed.

Good point. However, it's when they quit writing them that it is really time to worry (i.e., where losses to VT type teams are no longer unexpected).

She coaches basketball like it's 1948, slow and ugly. She is a terrible motivator and they don't play hard for her. You can tell that by the way they hang their heads and play timidly. Teams no longer fear TB Arena, truth be told it's like playing in a funeral parlor

No matter if we love or hate Holly, it is not just Peck but others as well, including Sam Hamer, one of our own. They simply do not understand why our girls play the way they do. So it not just a concern of the fan base but others as well. The Lady Vol program is women's basketball. If not for Pat and Tennessee there would not be a Baylor, South Carolina, UCONN, etc. Tennessee placed the women's program on the major stage. This program is like the Kentucky of the men's program, The Lady Vols are women's basketball. At this point we should not be taking a backseat to any program. Every girl playing basketball, in the State of Tennessee, should have Tennessee as their first school of choice, no doubt. When we cannot keep our top talent at home there is a problem and it needs to be fixed NOW.
