I also love the fact that in that bracket the projected sweet 16 match-up would be Gonzaga. (One of the most over rated teams this year) and the number 1 seed is Memphis. (who wouldnt want another shot at Memphis on a neutral site). Best looking bracket for the Vols I have seen yet.

I guess, in this scenario, everyone is overlooking the fact that Winthrop won at Marquette and took Alabama to the wire in Tuscaloosa.

The Zags are not over rated by a long shot

It is a very big misconception that Zaga is weak. This is because of two reasons.

1. Morrison scores so much that it overshadows his teammates.
2. They are far west coast and don't get as much media coverage as the other top teams.

Come tourney time, the zags disappoint year in and year out almost as much as the Gators do.

Yes they do... My 'Dawgs aren't particularly deep, and I don't expect them to go deep in the tournament. The reason they're ranked so high is because of the majority of voters are on the East coast, and all they know is that Morrison is supposedly a hell of a player and Few's boys are approaching a home win streak of 40. I'd go so far as to say 1/2 the voters out there haven't even seen a single Gonzaga game this season. Problem is the team has no depth, and when Batista is not playing well, not much of an inside game, either. If they were gonna go deep in the tourney, last year was the year to do it while Turiaf was still playing. They can still do it this year, but Few will have to make sure the starters are playing good, consistent ball and Batista MUST control the boards every minute of every game.

That and weak teams seem to take them to the wire. Without Morrison they struggle.

MORRISON gets plenty of coverage.

Yeah, and the Zags get it with him no? Not to mention that I live 2 hours from Knoxville and have seen more Zag games on TV than Vols games.

My theory is that everybody just got so tired of being fooled by Gonzaga's tournament runs that they decided to rip the Cinderella label off of them.

That's because it's a sporting event worth watching that is usually on around midnight for you east coast folks. The night owls on here may watch them, but most sensible people are not up at 1AM watching basketball, and that unfortunately includes poll voters.

Yep... Unfortunately. Who knows though... All those years of supposedly being able to step it up and make a deep run, maybe this year my team will enter with low expectations and pull one out.

Then again, here is an interesting way to look at it. Do you suppose Few could be playing the games to keep them close? I mean, there is no such thing as a team who goes through the tournament without experiencing a down to the wire game. I think we all know Gonzaga should be talented enough to blow the WCC teams away. Of course, if you go through a season winning each game by 20 points and playing trash time at the end of every game, you're in for a good suprise some tourney time. Even though it is lesser competition, these guys are able to play to the wire, especially having some close trip ups this year to teams such as UConn and Memphis.

Not to mention they beat a very talented Michigan State team....Ager and Brown couldn't slow down Morrison he put 43 up against MSU!!

Watching Morrison play first hand against memphis was very impressive. The rest of the team, however, wasn't. They had one other play with the jewels to take the ball inside and not try the Morrison "im not that big so i am going to stay outside and throw up these ugly shots until they stop going in"

It also seems like, although it might be 11 ar 12 at night...I see at least two zag games a week. They get alot of coverage...even on the internet every morning, there is more about their practice then about the game that memphis played. I hate the zags....they are going to get rocked in the second round.
